Hi I use a Mateminco FW1 LEP as a pointer on construction and painting jobs but it's a too large to carry around every day.

I don't know if there are any slim diameter pocketable Leps that have as tiny a spot beam at 25 feet away??

I. know a smaller lens means either a floodier beam which I don't want or less candlepower which I'm okay with. Much of my work is inside and I don't want the beam too bright there so I could save my FW1 for outside when pointing things out in direct sunlight and EDC something smaller the rest of the time.

What would you suggest?

Does it have to a LEP? Those are by design made to shine a thin beam at long distances.

If size and a thin beam is the point, then I'd recommend a narrow TIR-light instead. Like the Sofirn IF22A, or an option from Convoy.

A low-angle (5-10°) flat TIR should give you the beam pattern you're after, but with much more output control compared to a typical LEP, and in a smaller package.

Maratac had a small LEP for sale a year or two ago. Looked very similar to the Lumintop Thor.

If you don't need one right now, you could lurk the Bay.

Vastlite is selling the "Bow" model for just under $100, if you don't mind giving Jeff some money. "Only" 140,000 cd.

How big are your pockets? Easily a coat pocket .

Or what impresses me more but not an LEP

Titanium and perfect on the keys. More than punchy enough and around 700lm

Again not LEP but found a darn good alternative. I’m pleasantly surprised by this little beauty and defo pocketable . Its on the chunkier side of 16340 lights, but within reason, if a HDS or D25c will go in a pocket. This will…..just a slightly larger head
Acebeam e10 worth looking into, almost like LEP almost , far more usable but crazy tight spot and limited (hardly any at all) flood.
No pics as of yet alone as got these together last night, but 1200lm and over 700m throw is pretty decent for its size. Worth checking out at least . I know which will get more use out of my LEP and this!

Ven is right -- that Acebeam E10 v. 2 is a very good competitor to the CountyComm/Maratac 16340 LEP.
The candela numbers are basically the same (Acebeam 128k vs. CC 125k). They both take the same cell.
The Acebeam puts out a *lot* more lumens: 1200 vs. 260. That will translate into a larger hotspot.
The Acebeam has many more usable modes: 5 brightness levels, all the way down to an ultra-low 2 lumens, whereas the Maratac just has high (260 lumens) and low (100 lumens). You can use the Acebeam for many regular flashlight functions, where the Maratac is just an LEP.
That said, the Maratac is much more pocketable. The head on that Acebeam is 4cm across (1 and 5/8 inches), and that would not sit very well in my front trouser pocket.
Separately, both of them suffer from the 16340 cell, which will get depleted fairly quickly at these high outputs. Maratac also offers a LEP based on the 18350 cell, which is slightly bigger all around but still more compact than the Acebeam, with that head. The Acebeam really should have used an 18350, which would not have changed its size that much, and would have given it a much better cell. Ah well.
Oh -- did I mention that the Acebeam is a whole lot cheaper? Like, around $55 vs. around $85?
So -- if the most important thing for you is slim and pocketable, go for one of the Maratacs (16340 or 18350). But if that's not important, I would go for the Acebeam.

Thanks , I will add it’s nicely made and a real nice light. I can easily recommend it and as you rightly state a bargain to boot. My Thor III I also got in the sale which still cost twice as much at £100……fun yes, useful…nope. Would I recommend , well in ways as a flashaholic and maybe should have one LEP light , but that’s just an opinion. I can’t recommend the, or any LEP light hand on heart . Not after spending some time with one.
The E10 easily recommend 👍🏻

Just picked up one off Amazon to day haven't had a chance to play with it much yet but seems well made and Brite. Uses a 16340 very easy to carry in pocket.

Made up, made in China brand. Doubt anyone on CPF has ever even heard of it.
Just be careful with that thing.
