Lighting an Indoor Shooting Range for Photography

Dave, look at the Viltrox panels as they can be powered by cam corset batteries or an ac/dc wall warts. The panels I purchased were 4x12x.75 thick. Very compact for the light output.

Lighting an Indoor Shooting Range for Photography

Get a couple of the variable color temperature LED light panels that can be powered by video camera batteries. I’ve got a few panels by Viltrox that use the Sony NP-F550 batteries. The panels are adjustable for both color and brightness. Amazon sells them for anywhere between $25-40 USD.

Who has a Cat or Cats?

Salem’s condition is a genetic mutation called polydactylism. The cats at the Hemingway house in Key West Florida are known for being polydactyl. Polydactyl cats were thought by sailors to be good hunters of rodents on ships making the Atlantic crossing. Supposedly, the larger paws gave them...

Vape pen explodes shattering teen’s teeth

Well the Fox article stated that Austin as they called him, requested a certain model of vape pen. It’s logical that he already had plans of souping the pen up by using sub ohm coils. Since this occurred in early 2018, I doubt we’ll ever know the truth. There was no mention of the family...

Who has a Cat or Cats?

Happy to see that I’m not the only one that can’t use the bathroom without my protection. The Tortie follows me like a dog. She stays in bed until I get up, then follows me to bed in the evening. I had someone come to the side door the other day. The Tortie started growling and hissing. Once...

    Knife Lubrication

I can recommend three products, but you need to use the one first to loosen the folder pivot and if a lock back spring points first. Sentry Products Tuf-Glide in the needle applicator bottle to first creep into the gummed up pivot, then Hoppes #9 Gun oil to finish things off. I’ve got a...

LED Lighting For John Deere GT225 Garden Tractor

John Deere parts number is AD2062R. Light bulbs don’t last long on most garden tractors due to vibration unless the bulb is on when the engine is running. The tungsten filament is brittle when cold, so vibration is the usual culprit for bulbs being out. Amazon sells a 18 watt Nilight LED...

In need of a wide beam.

Don’t forget the Nitecore TM26 series of lights. The temperature regulation will scale down the power to keep the light from getting too hot. The Fenix LD75 is about the same size as the TM26 and is around 4000 lumens on turbo plus it’s got multicolor LED’s to give you red, green and blue...

    What multimeter?

Depending on what you’re measuring, the Harbor Freight multimeter may be fine. eBay has a test bridge that allows for you to test the accuracy of the meter.

    Small battery pack rebuild

Karl, I’ve got a battery tab spot welder. Just finished up replacing the cells in a Nikon EN-EL4a pack with Sanyo 3500’s. Got a picture of the pack and balancing board?

Test/review of Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA 2019

I’ve got 3 trail cameras that specifies to use the Energizer Ultimate Lithium battery for maximum run time. The cameras take 16 batteries so at the best price I could find, it cost me close to $25 in batteries per camera. We had a mixed winter with a couple of weeks with sub 10 degree...

    Why do flashlight get anodized?

Anodizing done in batch processing is extremely cheap to perform. The military process Mil-A- 8625 type III is typically a natural color finish which varies from tan to olive green. Black anodizing is a dye added to the sealing operation. Type III anodizing is a minimum of .002” thick and is...

New Face Mill for Grizzly G0704

If using a Grizzly mill, 250-350 rpm using lard as the lubricant and a slow cross feed speed. Cast iron is picky on cutting lube. Cutter should be .032” radius. Pointy cutters aren’t good on cast iron. Take time to trammel the head and have it squared with the table. If you see a second...

    Cordless power tools

I keep my Makita around due to it using a keyed chuck. Just about every tool company wants to push keyless chucks. A good ball bearing Jacobs chuck will set you back close to a $100 in a 3/8” chuck and $150 for a 1/2” chuck. That’s close to the cost of the new keyless version tool. IMO, most...

    Cordless power tools

It’s all about marketing. By claiming 20V, DeWalt sounds like it’s more powerful than other makers 18V line. Most honest companies use the nominal voltage, Black&Decker Dewalt, Porter Cable, all owned by Stanley Tools, uses charged voltage. They’re not the only one doing this. Bosch has had...

    UV light for scorpions

The Nitecore P20UV light should be readily available in Italy. The light uses either CR123 or 18650 batteries. When not being used as a UV light, it’s got a white LED emitting 800 lumens of light that has good throw for a compact light.

Anyone else tried meatless burgers yet?

I’ve got the State Black Angus Association located less than 5 miles from my house. They have lists of farmers selling beef by the quarter, half and full cow. I eat ground burger a couple of times a month. Mostly beef, but also include chicken, turkey and pork. Whatever doesn’t get pattied...

give me some info on motor oils for motorcycles

Bel-Ray was a Honda recommended oil for all of the V4 engines. Bel-Ray EXP is a very good motor oil that also happens to be good for the clutch and seals. It's fully synthetic.

    Secret Aircraft

The reason behind the Beluga based on the Airbus A300-600 was three fold. I was working in Toulouse France in the early 1990's at the Airbus facility at Blanac Airport. Airbus had made a decision to built most of their aircraft in Toulouse with the exception of the ATR42 and ATR72 turbo props...

anyone know about old trek road bikes?

Ragging 33, Do you know how to do tap testing? If so, a simple tap test will show if the frame is cracked. If the frame is painted, it will show through the paint. Clear coated frames are easier as you’ll see a disruption of the fiber and you’ll feel it with a finger nail. I worked...
