    HDS Systems #23

Thanks for that information. If I'm feeling brave enough one day I may do that. The light works perfectly though, and I assume it's been calibrated to account for any effect that spot may have on the lumen output. If I do open it up, should I just try rubbing the LED dome with an alcohol wipe...

    HDS Systems #23

Nothing wrong with the beam or light itself that I can see. Just wondering if that scratch, or whatever it is, could be an issue for the longevity of the LED. Here's a pic. It's been my EDC since I got it.

    HDS Systems #23

I got my 2700K rotary in hand now. I saw some spots of something on the LED dome. Is there something wrong with the LED that would be a concern?

    HDS Systems #23

I got a custom 18650 rotary with the 170 lumen, 2700k led option. Maybe they had most of the parts already? 🤷‍♂️

    HDS Systems #23

I got a shipping notification exactly five weeks after my order. I appreciate the precision.

So when they quote 5 weeks it's really 15 weeks?

    HDS External Anti-reflective Coating?

Mine are very fine scratches. If you put your light into the lowest mode and look at the glass you can see them.

    HDS External Anti-reflective Coating?

Ok, good to know. If I don't want to be all delicate with it and have to see the scratches, is there a good way to strip the AR coating from the sapphire glass so I do not have to worry about it?

    HDS External Anti-reflective Coating?

Does anyone else have trouble not getting scratches on the external anti-reflective coating on their HDS? Is there a special way to clean the glass if some gunk or a fingerprint gets on it? For me it seems easy to scratch. If I just wanted to get some dust or a fingerprint off the glass, I...

    Haiku Hive default voltage

Other than not being warned about battery depletion, are there any output level differences? Also, where can I find the programming manual? I had no luck with some old links on this site.

    Current "Best" RCR123 Batteries?

Unfortunately, the Orbtronic will not work based on them being 35.65 mm long. I had previously tried the below Fenix batteries, and they were very tight at 35.50 mm. https://www.fenixlighting.com/products/fenix-arb-l16-700up-built-in-usb-rechargeable-battery So I am looking for something...

    Current "Best" RCR123 Batteries?

In 2022, what do you all recommend for RCR123 (16340) batteries? I've been out of the flashlight collecting space for several years, but I remember AW 16340 batteries being highly recommended like 5 years ago. It seems those are no longer made? I was looking at the below battery as one option...

High CRI Haiku for EDC, best configuration?

I appreciate the info. Is there any disadvantage to using alkaline over NiMH with the AA engine?

High CRI Haiku for EDC, best configuration?

You're starting to convince me to try the AA converter. Any reason you went with the 119V over the 119? Is the 119 available anymore?

High CRI Haiku for EDC, best configuration?

The 1xAA is interesting. Does the 1xAA converter have super fast level changes like the 3S? I tried a 3S Haiku once, and I didn't like the speed required for level changes. Since then I have preferred the HIVE converter.

High CRI Haiku for EDC, best configuration?

I am just getting back into custom flashlights after some time away from this space. I am considering a Haiku with the HIVE engine and a high CRI LED for EDC. What's the ideal configuration? I want to consider the pros and cons of each. 119V HIVE Haiku 1x123? 119V HIVE Haiku 2xAA? Some other...

    Haiku Hive default voltage

I purchased a "119V HIVE Mule 1x123" in 2016. Is it possible to know if it was programed for CR123 or RCR123 based on the year of purchase? I have been using both types of batteries in this mule over the years, but I have only been using protected RCR123 lately. Is there any danger using RCR123...
