    Olight I3T EOS button getting slow/harder to push...

    I rinsed my i5T tailswitch and lubricated the gap between the tail & switch with silicone oil. After a few clicks the switch smooth again.

    Where are all the 1AA flashlights these days?

    Streamlight Protac 1L-1AA and Protac 90 are my favorite lights. I also like the Olight i5T, simple and easy to carry. I wish Olight would make a thrower version of the i5T.

    Headlight vs flashlight

    I have not count. I carry a right angle flashlight with adjustable clip (SL Protac 90). It works in most situation. Handheld/ clip onto hat or clothing/ set to different angle with the clip.

    The new EDCL1T tailcap is the same length as the old one (longer than the Tacitician's). I think it is still a gas pedal.

    I like large, tall button for the long travel clicky switch. The semi-shrouded gas pedal switch suits me better, it gives me an index point between low & high mode.

    Defensive use

    Years ago I went to indoor wargame (airsoft force on force). One of the opponent is around the corner and I shone his face with a 150lumen flashlight. He flinched and pointed the gun away so I didn't get hit. That flashlight did the job and saved me!

    SF has a slim AAA weapon light, 300lumen/1045candela, looks like a flood light for close range use.

    300 lumen is enough for me. When I see 300lm is not much that means the environment is bright. I prefer constant output for an hour to extreme output for 1min...

    Will the next surefire defender be duel fuel?

    I will only choose high only for a SF tactical flashlight(except the gas pedal switch, it is great!). SF's mode switching is bad IMO. "Return to off and press or click on again, within two seconds, for low output" <<<That 2 seconds is too long for tactical use. Sometimes I forget to wait 2...

    Best AA edc flashlight?

    I like AA and AA-compatible flashlights. My favorite EDC lights are Streamlight Protac 90 and 1L-1AA. The Olight i5T is nice but I want more throw. Is there any single AA/nimh thrower with simple low/hi forward clicky tailswitch?

    Tactical or Practical, which do you use most

    I think the SF gas pedal switch is the best balance of practical and tactical use. Some dual switches flashlights are also nice. Side switch for multiple output and tail switch for max tactical output.
