    Fixed Blades

I had an S1 in CoS for a bit. Yeah, not a big fan of the sheath and was considering getting a leather one for it but in the end I decided it was just a bit to heavy and I always went to pick up my Field Knife instead. It was a very good knife and the steel took a terrific edge. I sometimes...

    emergencies comms

I guessed the pessimist in me always looked at radios more for hear news coming in and not for communicating out. Yeah, I am one of those who may or may not be preparing for a version of tomorrow that is not as rosy as the version we have today. Anyway, I go back and forth getting my HAM to go...

    Fixed Blades

I have gone through more fixed blades than I can remember. Buying and selling them, searching for that one that would be just right . . . I might still be searching but I have found a few keepers over the years. This Behring Made ProLT rides on my Umlindi pack belt (it was my get home bag but...

    Big Blades (That's a knife!)

My Junglas and Spyderco Native Chief, both rather large blades in their respective categories.

    Automatic knives, valid for use?

Retracting the blade is maybe the only advantage I had found while I owed an ultratech. I also made a mistake of using some hi-tech gun lube on it and gummed up the action for a while. When I got it working right again I traded it for a Spyderco Military sprint run and never looked back. I...

    Ever lost a Flashlight?

Um, thankfully not my flashlight . . . . A lost flashlight caused $4 million in damage inside an F-35 engine

Surefire Furry vs Streamlight Stiron or Protac 2.0? Best hard use like sized light?

Just get a Malkoff M61 HOT and don't look back. Pretty sure you can throw it off a cliff and not effect it. If that is not your cup of tea, though I do not own one, I did see a video of a person dropping a Elzetta out of a helicopter at 100 feet on to concrete. It damaged the concrete.

LEP Lights Made Outside of China

The best I could figure out they are made in Taiwan and thus would qualify for not being made in China.

    M61HOT v2

Well, to resurrect an older thread, I got a M61HOT V2 back in December. I have been out of the light game for years, my most modern lights were a M61LL in a old G2 and a Surefire U2 (still dig the adjustment collar). I have been so in love with the M61HOT, it just throws a wall of light such a...

Your favorite / best / coolest / nicest flashlight of 2023?

Best light of the year for me is my new Malkoff MD2 HOT. Just a handful of a well balance wall of light. Decent combination of throw and spill.

    EMP or CME vs Flashlights

You can make a faraday cage from an ammo can . . . youtube is full of videos showing how. Fridge wont work due to seal would let in the damaging electricity.

    The Malkoff Front Porch

Saw that today and started to wonder if it could replace my MDC HA TAC. Unfortunately , I got the TAC as I like the high on first and this is low first. Who knows though, I guess maybe in a couple months I can contact them and see if they could do a one of with the High first.

    Cloud Defensive MCH multi mode?

That's funny as the light I am waiting on and was to be by last purchase is the M61 HOT with a couple of the Keeppower 18650s

    Cloud Defensive MCH multi mode?

I thought I was done buying flashlights this year . . . spent more than I should of since September on a couple of Malkoffs and a really inexpensive ACEBEAM. That said Cloud has Orange and Red MCH HC and a Blue MCH EDC for around $124 +tax out the door. I have an orange MCH HC heading my way...

Your favorite / best / coolest / nicest flashlight of 2023?

Best budget is easy for me, Black Friday I picked up an ACEBEAM TAC AA for $24. Outstanding little light with a type C rechargeable battery included.

    EMP or CME vs Flashlights

Join us crazy people who have a SB/SW radio and light and batteries stored in a faraday bag/cage. Slnt makes some good ones for travel/car/backpack use.
