There have been Maglite silencers long before the "The Walking Dead". I have a couple old gun books around that tells how to make them. And when not using them you can screw both ends on so you wouldn't know they are silencers. -

I have a black one I used as a hammer to bang my fuel filter when it clogged up on my 1980 Chevy Luv 4WD. That was in the early 80's. Repairing A Wireless Towing Light Kit
You probably junked the lights already. But the inductor in the L1 spot on the pc board is bad. I've torn a few apart and everyone was the same.- mrrz500
