Overcoat pockets.... It's cold out there!!!Pocket-able? What type of pockets do you use?
That's always been a contention, that we don't need lights with that much throw, because we can't see that far anyway.
There are some figures for direct copper mounted XM-L emitters getting up to 1500lm so I think that the XM-L2 would get a bit more than that, and then subtract the loss from de-dome and I think that you are pretty close to the realistic mark. Since the surface intensity is higher on an XP-G2 than on the XM-L2 I don't think it will matter what you do I think that the XP-G2 would throw further, but just my opinion. Someone who knows a little more could correct me on that, I also think that the direct copper mounted XM-L2 would put out a significantly larger amount of light that would drastically improve the overall performance of the light. I am ready for a light that has an over-drive mode with forced circulation, and draw some real power from one of these new emitters. I have seen tests where an XML was driven up to 6A on a CPU heatsink, that might be interesting.Thx for the info!
My only worry about buying one is that you will make a 1200lm 500k lux XM-L2 light lol
I like how every one was asking if the first one was an XP-G2 and now your like nope THIS! is an XP-G2 lol

In my case, 99, if not 100% of my illumination needs is served by my single AA led light. Why would I want something with a Kcd rating good enough for a kilometer? I might not even see that far already, but the pleasure of owning something done by Saab is different.
I've got one of these on order, and now I'm shopping for batteries. Saab's initial post stated "Runs on 3 18650 Li-ion rechargeable -Please use only high quality "protected" 18650s such as Panasonic 3100/3400 NCR18650A or NCR18650B".
Being a newbie, I found some NCR18650B's for sale and was about to pull the trigger when I noticed they are "unprotected". Orbtronic sells protected batteries which use the NCR18650B internally. Of course they're more expensive. I don't mind the extra cost as long as I get the right battery. I take it I should buy the Orbtronics as they are protected, not the unprotected raw NCR18650B. Is that right? Also, will the Orbtronics fit this light?
Amazon ASIN: B00ANX46H2
Item model number: NCR18650B-ORB
What about Callie's Kustoms? Are they ok to use?
Any updates on progress at all? Can't wait to get this one......gonna be awesome.
+1 also some pic would be nice
I m glad You like my user name. Hopefully one off them is mine LOLLike your username. Now I know who you are.
Like what? Here is a few disassembled that are on my table now.
As you can see the battery carriers have already been done. Mandy is partway through making the copper mounted boards for these lights. First batch to go out Tuesday if all goes well.
Now the anticipation builds. Being invoice #0000001203 hopefully I will find out by weeks end just how awesome this light is, time to charge up the 3100's and get ready to play. My god this is fun. I hope that everyone is more than happy with their new lights.

Not sure on the invoice numbers but on 12/26/12 at about 6:30 am I saw a post with invoice #0000001202 and it only took about 10 minutes to finish the order, no thought as to if I needed this new one just the thought of 1274 meters throw rating. Yes I also have the original TN31 and three STL-V6's, funny the STL-V6's are what I carry every day to light the way. I had a friend who bought the fourth STL-V6 from me to help protect his dairy farm from mischief at night, he is very happy with it. So yes I enjoy Michael's work and am more than happy to help support the kind of innovations that the mainstream companies miss.Hi Devildude.
I have Invoice No 1213.
I ordered the TN31mb and the modded T10.
Was the start number of this TN31mb order list 1200 then?
Does anyone else know that for sure?
I am not sure if I will be in the next bunch.
You were smart and must have had confidence in the throwers that Michael produces by jumping in pretty early to be at the front of the waiting line.
Do you have any of his past modded lights?
I just forgot about ordering my stuff straight away when I should have.
DARN!
If my older Saab modded TN31 and my Saab modded Fandyfire is anything to go by then I think we will just love what Saab has now created with his THROW MAGIC!
I still have both of those modded lights and they are long time keepers for me.
I must ask Michael (Saabluster) whether he gets much business from non CPF members or anyone just viewing CPF posts and how they find his website if not from here on CPF.
