What happened to the Impact Resistant Tailcap Bezel and the Flat Tailcap Spring Cover?

Bring these things back, my V3 did not have them.

I would suggest you keep your QC up and keep making battle tough lights.

Anything less is unacceptable. You guys have the opportunity to do something great, keep making the best product you can make.

We removed tailcap bezel in order to reduce flashlight's weight.

With regard to AT's response to your 1st question above, I doubt it's to save weight, but more to save material and lower fabrication costs. In addition, with regard to the spring cover, there were reports that it gouged the switch retaining ring when the cell was long and it bottom out the spring.

The driver potting is crucial to their lights' above average drop rating. Without it, that's one fewer reason to even consider an AT light.

My need is to light up the whole area and your lights do a good job. Throw has been great but when I light up a car/person in a dark area I also need to see as far as possible to either side to keep surprises to a minimum.

Don't know how other Barracuda owners might see it, but when holding it in the middle of the body with one hand it's extremely tricky to reach the tailcap switch. :thinking: OK, one could light it up by pushing the tailcap to the knee or the shoe sole :thinking: ... but an electronic side click switch would improve handling a lot

For the prime and partner lines that aren't C2 the huge jump between main high and turbo is a lot. ~90 to ~500 lumens. On the pro you do get the 260 lumen turbo 1 but first I think there should only be turbo and the 260 lumen should be the highest high. And for people who want the non pro model which is shorter and less complicated UI the get a too low high and a short runtime turbo with nothing in between. Also the website isn't very good. Without doing searched on here I have no idea what differentiates most of the models because there's no description of how they work. By looking I can't tell the difference between predator, Viking, and Doberman

Deceptive marketing is a red flag and now I will never own an Armytek.

Whether AT is Canadian has been discussed and put to rest in past threads, and this one would be in danger of being closed by one of the mods if we continued down his road again.

So let's just leave it at this: Armytek is a flashlight designing company registered in Canada, that manufacturers its lights out of China. So, yes, Armytek lights are MADE in CHINA. I think if Armytek simply called itself a Canadian Designer rather than a Canadian Manufacturer, it would not draw so much ire. I'm not sure if Armytek's claim about the 6-floor factory means they own the entire factory, a floor or part of floor inside the factory, or merely a production line located on a floor or floors inside the factory. But to be honest, all of this doesn't mean jack squat to me. Armytek's products, their quality, and performance are most important.

My girlfriend and I have used two Tiara for hiking & camping since this summer (one Tiara for each of us), so here's my feedback based on our personal use.


The cons:
Modes: I think a 6-8 hour mode would be useful for activities such as hiking, caving, etc. I find that "Main 1" is too low to hike with best visual confort and "Main 2" lasts too short (3 hours) so a spare battery is absolutely needed.
However I don't have any solution apart from programming features, an intermediate mode would be too much and the existing modes are very useful in other situations.


Bettery indication (blinking button): I think one or two blink would be sufficient in the firefly modes. I also find the blinking led too bright in all modes: I would see it as bright as currently for the first two blinks, then blinking in a lower level so that it doesn't bother people around.


Warning indication: I found that the critical level (with red blinking button) came very fast after the first warning (orange button), when using an Ni-MH AA. The critical level outpoot is also too low to be useful, I wouln't want to be lost in the woods with such a low beam.


Weight: this lamp is somewhat heavy compared to competitors, making it not suitable for Ultralight Hiking enthousiasts. From my personal experience the weight remains perfectly acceptable and I forget the headlamp when I have it on my head.


The pros:
Beam: I love it, I have no complain at all, for the this is the perfect beam for outdoor activities (smooth and large beam), especially with the high-CRI 2700K tint.


Mode switching (double-click, long click, etc.): it becomes intuitive and easy to use once you catch it when reading the manual.


Customer service: my experience has always been positive. Armytek made great efforts to send our lamps before we go camping and didn't charge the additional costs, so once again I have to thank them for that. They did the same effort many years ago with a defective Predator so that I could go caving with a new one.


Removable magnet: this is a neat feature I use (wether to hold the lamp in my tent or to remove the magnet to save weight on my head).

100% faulty electronics on 4 out of 4 lights......wow.

I was told that I would get a refund for my shipping for a defective light I sent back and I have not received it. I followed the instructions and sent a copy of my shipping receipt the day I sent it too. It has now been over 3 weeks and nothing. I emailed the Canadian office([email protected]) to find out what was going on last week and have still not heard back. They were who I have been dealing with concerning the issue and who my light was sent back to. Can you please find out what is going on? Thanks.
