MicroBlueBear Revival!
Today I've got a bit of an older one.
Shortly after the release of the xhp70 in late 2014, acebeam tossed one in there k60 about mid way through 2015! Though it's two years later, we haven't seen any updates for higher power LEDs.
Based on that I am going to say that this is still relevant and a very good flashlight in 2017. Acebeam did an absolutely phenomenal job with the k60 and it is still one of my favorite lights. The light comes in three different colors. I received the black one that I am reviewing.
The company:
Acebeam, formerly know as supbeam, and before that, microbluebear! MBB was never really a hit and wasn't considered high quality, nor was supbeam. When they changed their name to acebeam it was either live up to the name "ACE" or fail again and forever be know as failbeam!
Well... they didn't fail... Acebeam came in strong and brought (and is bringing) quality lights to the table of all kinds, at reasonable prices. Their number one is customer support (which I can personally speak from) and they have turned into one of the top manufacturers. Personally in my top 5!
Disclaimer- please excuse the dust, dirt, dings, and scufs on any of my flashlights in reviews. This one has been in use for the past couple of years. I like to give a tried and true review where I have used the light in my normal day to day life and work. I work in construction and as much as I love every flashlight… it is also a tool.
Unboxing:
The box that the Acebeam k60 comes in is made of a high quality cardboard. Much harder and stiffer than regular cardboard, with a plastic carrying handle.
Opening up the box you are greeted with a user manual and a warranty card.
Here are a couple pictures of the user manual
Removing those you can see the flashlight nicely nestled in the foam
The included accessories and replacement parts. Extra rear switch cover, heavy duty lanyard, and two spare O rings.
Nice cutout foam packaging to assure safe arrival
The flashlight in its included holster
Very nice flexible nylon holster
On the back there is a D ring for easy attachment. There is a Velcro belt loop for quick and easy attachment, or a more permanent stitched in belt loop where the warranty card is through
And finally On to the flashlight:
A picture of that gorgeous 7x7mm cree xhp70. AR coated lense and a deep orange peel reflector to smooth out the beam pattern and help with the spot to flood ratio
Another of it on in the lowest setting-moonlight-1lumen.
A very nice looking bezel that is substantially protruding to protect the glass.
Substantial thick flanged heatsinking to help dissipate the large amounts of heat that will be created from the led.
Built into the heatsinking are flat spots to stop the light from continuously rolling
Magnetic control ring to adjust the mode before or after the light is on.(UI..Couldn't be any simpler)
Additional positions on the mode ring include standby (which draws a very small amount of current so is not recommended to use as the official on off switch) and a multi frequency strobe.
The rear tactical clicky switch with momentary on. A cutout for easy access to the switch and many lanyard attachment points.
Very steady tail stand capability
Large but grippy diagonal knurling on the battery tube
And now Taking it apart:
The head separated from the body
The battery tube with battery's
Very nice retention on the springs and a very ridged cage
Acebeam's official high drain 20A 18650 battery's
The springs on both the front and rear are gold plated and very strong
With a dual spring in the rear
Oiled, square cut threads on both the tail cap and the head resulting in very smooth quite rotation
Everything disassembled
A couple shots showing size comparison to my hand/arm

Beam profile/beamshots:
As you can see the hotspot is a very large part of the beam. At the max of 700meters the hotspot is very big.
From low to high, gives an idea of the beam pattern. 2ft from wall
And the main attraction (at least what I head to first in every review) the beamshots.
Camera settings: ISO 100 Shutter speed 4seconds
100ft to evergreen tree
Moonlight 1lumen
Low 50lumens
Medium1 700lumens
Medium2 1700lumens
High 3400lumens
Turbo 5000lumens
200ft to treeline
Moonlight 1lumen
Low 50lumens
Medium1 700lumens
Medium2 1700lumens
High 3400lumens
Turbo 5000lumens
400ft to red trailer
Moonlight 1lumen
Low 50lumens
Medium1 700lumens
Medium2 1700lumens
High 3400lumens
Turbo 5000lumens
As you can see the k60 easily lights up a large spot at 400feet.
1100feet to farthest tree tops
Moonlight 1lumen
Low 50lumens
Medium1 700lumens
Medium2 1700lumens
High 3400lumens
Turbo 5000lumens
As you can see, a massive area is lit up.
Pros and Cons:
Pros
-Excellent beam
-Very usable hotspot
-Great runtimes
-Tons of sinking resulting in good runtimes on higher levels
-Uses rechargeable batteries
-Water resistant ipx8
-Drop resistance to 1.2m
-Well spaced usable modes
-5 year warranty
-Gourges
-Very bright!
Cons
-on cold evenings I find the lense gets a slight film of fog on the inside of the lense(nothing substantial, it would not affect output much)
-takes an extra second to get it out of the holster if you run it gets stuck down further(nice holster but I think I would prefer if it was a little stiffer
Conclusion:
I have absolutely loved my time so far with the Acebeam k60 and look forward to many more years with it and other acebeam products.
I can speak personally from their customer service as when I first received the product it had a faulty driver. I contacted my supplier and they contacted acebeam. Everything was solved very quickly and smoothly. I received the replacement part in a few short days and I was on my way.
This thing still blows me away everytime. Everyone I hand it to or turn it on in front of is like waaaht only 1 led? 5000lumens?
Bottom line I would say this is a must have.. oneday.. for everyone!
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed!
