Re: The 4 & FourSevens Picture and Random Question Thread

Both of my first-run, aluminum, Mini lights, the Mini MK II and the Mini MK II Turbo have memory. They both turn on in the last mode used. Neither one reverts to moon mode. ~";o)

That means there must have definitely been a driver switch later down the line. Well, I've no complaints about the hybrid memory lol. Very useful on this type of light, especially because of the high-output. Thanks for the info Chance!

You're welcome, the0dore3524. I have the aluminum Turbo set to configuration number two, High - Low. I'd love it even more if it didn't have mode memory and always activated to low upon initial start.

I know David tried his best to design the light to be able to work (as close as possible) the way a lot of individuals wanted. Know what I mean? :)

Re: The 4 & FourSevens Picture and Random Question Thread

They have different drivers between the Turbo and the standard MarkII

Notice the Turbo has a Moonlight as the first mode and the Standard does not :)

Question? Are there different types of memory used on the different mode groups?
Has anyone tested this? Does any one mode group have Hybird memory revert back to first setting when switched?

L@@Ks like I wasn't the only person that was happy to have another opportunity to purchase a copper Bolt. :twothumbs

~ CG

Both My Bolt's are moonlight lights ;)

I was always tempted by this light and when I heard the news that David posted in his video I knew I had to go ahead and pull the trigger. I really like the design/function of the Boltlight and as always copper drives me over the top.

The Ti and Copper versions have moon.

Re: The 4 & FourSevens Picture and Random Question Thread

Chauncey, they all have memory. The difference is only in what mode it goes to when you change from the memorized mode - next mode up, or to the lowest mode in the set.

GotLumens - interesting. My regular Mini MK II's, both UI's, have Moonlight, and the manual shows it. So many variations!

BTW, my Mini started mode skipping like a banshee this morning, did not take long. So I gave it a Hondozination. Removed all lube, cleaned all contacts with Deoxit, sanded the end of the tube lightly with X-fine paper, applied Nyogel to threads an O-ring and ProGold to all contacts. Very nice now, much smoother. Hope I don't have to do this every week, though, to keep it working.

Shouldn't have to now that it is clean and protected :).

Beam I was typing too fast, I meant as the first setting in the mode group ;). I fixed it.
Also the tint of my MKII's NW's are not too bad.

Likewise, jdboy. I've wanted a copper Bolt since first laying eyes on one. However, the $300 price was just too much to bear. While viewing the video, I came to the same conclusion. It was time to secure one. Hence, :xyxgun: the trigger was pulled.... but only once. :p

Does anyone else see only a blue box with a question mark in it where GL?'s pictures should be? Both are visible to me now that I've added the screenshots. What about in GL?'s original post?

Addendum: Oh-boy! Another three run posting by Chance. This guy :twothumbs needs a hobby. Wait a minute, ..... this is my hobby.

This is what all my pictures look like in Safari browser. Click the Question mark, and it will open the image in a new tab or window, I need to start labeling my posts

Re: The 4Sevens & FourSevens Picture and Random Question Thread

I'm seeing GL's images. I do run the plugin that fixes Photobucket pictures, if that makes a difference. That blue box is not what you get from them for the "third party hosting" error, though.

Just realized, the change he is showing between manuals is not removing Moonlight, just rotating the order they are shown in the manual. So many people were upset that it came "last". But when it has memory, as I said earlier, it is a circle, so printing it first or last is the same thing. I think showing it first makes more sense. I can never understand why some manufacturers will show all of their specs as high, med., low, even when the order in the UI is low, med., high. That stuff makes a difference to many users, me included.

So anyway, back to just two UI variations, the one with the first mode change "Go directly to lowest mode, do not pass Go, do not collect $200" on all configurations (1, 2 and 3 don't have more than two levels, so no difference there). And the one that has that on config. 4 & 5, but not 6 - just goes to next higher mode from memorized.

How can I obtain that plugin?

It's not so much the starts at - finishes at, it's just the sequence. Perhaps the mode sequence should be printed in / represented as a circle.

Bingo - Yahtzee! If they did that it would pictorially demonstrate the function of memory. What is always shown directs the brain to a default start point.

The Photobucket fix is here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/photobucket-hotlink-fix/kegnjbncdcliihbemealioapbifiaedg

But credit to jon slider in post #3700 here: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb...stems-EDC-19&p=5138051&viewfull=1#post5138051
