I am curious how many of you have been carrying the same EDC lights for several years? I have been csrrying the same two lights everyday for since spring of 2017, 2.5yrs. I have looked at a slew of other lights as possible replacements but these two have been thru hell and back, taking way more abuse than they should and yet they just shake it off, keep on working and show no major damage despite both sustaining multiple drops from 6ft+ onto concrete. They are simple, easy to use, have good runtimes for my needs, and are NW.

So with that said, do you carry the samething for long lengths of time or do you rotate? Always have to have the latest for EDC or happy with the tried and trued?

I have a red Photon Microlight I've been carrying on my keychain since 2004.
Been carrying some variation of a Surefire E2 or E2e for the past 20 years.

I know someone here can beat me. I'm waiting to hear from the guy who's been carrying a Minimag for 30 years.

The same physical light? Preon P2 MkII I got in late 2016 - almost exactly 3 years.

Same model? Preon P2, 7 years from late 2009 to late 2016 - kept the same body and tailcap but updated the head from regular CW to WW to NW before I retired it for the MkII.

I've also used the same pair of Olight S15 Batons as my daily bike like from late 2013 to now. So 6 years there.

3 years carrying the PFlexPro Convoy S2+. Light, powerful, extremely customizable with the AP driver, and (relatively) inexpensive. And I love the lighted tail switch. Easy to find in the dark. For these reasons, it's my go to EDC. I really hope Randy hasn't closed down.

My PKDL PR-1 has been carried on my person the longest. Go where I go was the incan minimag that is now a shelf queen.

How long? Eh, about 3-1/2 years for the PR-1. The minimag, let's see…1991-ish to oh about 2014……23 years give or take.

For the past 4+ years it's been my E2D body with a single stage Malkoff head on it and a Surefire 2-way clip. It's just always my go to.

Carried a stainless steel Peak Eiger on my keyring daily for roughly 5 years.

Replaced it with a titanium UniVex AAA about 4 years ago.

The Peak still looks basically new, lol, and works fine.

The UniVex is nice too, but I have had to occasionally sort out the tiny switch (mostly just clean and re-tighten, when it gets flickery)

I carried the same Streamlight Protac 2L every day for about 6 years.
I has been submerged in transformer oil multiple times, run over (literally), exposed to harsh solvents, dropped, kicked, etc...
It looks pretty bad, but still works like new.

I JUST retired it only because I am trying a rechargeable (Olight S2R Baton).

I've carried various HDS's in a kydex holster since late 2011. Surefire T1A with my keys for quite awhile, till I picked up Jason's Beta going on quite a few years. I carry the T1A on a suspension clip in 511's front knife pocket. Also have thoughs free button lights with the Jeep key. Jeez, 4 EDC lights carried all theses years! ... lol .. I work nights, so they do get used! HDS Rotary gets a work out every night!

I've got this. Bought this Arc AAA the summer before I started grad school. The light, along with the car, just won't die. That's ok, old reliable is the perfect vehicle to leave at BART.

To be completely honest folks, I didn't expect people to b carrying the same light for so long. I really figured I was in the minority and most people would say they change what light they carry as newer models come out or they get bored with their current light.

I carried a Surefire E2L Outdoorsman for 9 years when I was a Tactical Flight Officer on a Police Air Support Unit.

It was always clipped into the thigh pocket on my flight suit. Ideal for operating around the aircraft during ad hoc landings etc.

I carry different lights from month to month bout I have carrier my E2E since 2006 or so. Dam near everyday. It started as a 65 lumen incandescent then it got a E to C adapter and a P60 and now it's running a Malkoff M361. Only original part is the body as I have gone through 2 tails and somehow lost the head. It's not much to look at but yep a good 12 years or so.

That's awesome. There's not enough of those finned adapters around, I hope he makes some more. I'm afraid to use mine for anything serious! I have a three cell aftermarket E-series body with a KT2 turbohead on the same adapter for one of my around the house lights.
