The packages pickup was missed Friday.
They are getting them out as fast as they are able.
Sorry to hear Your TiP1 Onibi order is delayed :(.
Tuesday the 30th will be the next package pickup for shipments ready to be sent out.

Just to be TOTALLY SAFE . . . . .

Can my 47's QTA (1xAA) flashlight
100 % safely accept a 14500 cell ? ? ?

Thank You for your assistance here.

Voltage Range: 0.9V-4.2V

I would say yes but use at your own risk.

Yeah, the old-school Quarks can take a single Li-Ion. I used a 17670 cell a lot with a 1xAA tactical neutral head.

Just don't leave it sitting on turbo too long because it'll get hot enough to damage it.

See my thread here (different head, but still....)

You should be OK.
To be safe I only use turbo mode in short bursts of <5 seconds with a 14500 cell.
Depending upon the cell voltage and environment used in, it may be possible to have excessive heat build up that could shorten the LED life if Turbo mode is left On continuously. This is due to the 30 seconds before ramping down from 100% Turbo mode. I suggest some caution, that's all, and it will work very well for You.
boo5sted is correct 0.9 - 4.2V

The QTA's are MKII lights.
You are correct in your thinking and cautionary reply.

I wasn't aware that the lights with the QTA nomenclature were Mark II versions; I've got a QTA and QTA2, one has still has the R5 XP-G, the other has the updated XP-G2 (silver base emitter).

I don't recall any other differences other than the logo and label markings.

The old-old school Quarks didn't have any external head markings; makes it tough to find a particular one on the shelf sometimes!

Just now I tried a 16650 cell with the QTA and ran it on turbo a few minutes with the light in my hand. Even holding on to it, the light was starting to get pretty warm.

So yeah it works just be mindful of the heat and don't overdo it.

Yes that's correct. Turbo on the MKII Foursevens LV lights were designed to ramp down after 30 seconds of continuous use to prevent damaging the light from heat. The MKII's design was originally made to hinder, but not fully "prevent" the user from permanently damaging their light from extended and or prolonged turbo use.

Hah, it's like EDC Roulette! Grab one at random for the day and let it be a surprise which type it turns out to be!

Thank you, EVERYONE, for your responses !
:lovecpf:

No Worries --
I would certainly *NOT* be using it
on anything more than Medium mode.

On the legacy MKI 47's lights, Foursevens MKII's, and the current MKIII's, I have been marking the inside of the head using a fine point sharpie to identify what LED and Voltage they are. All their boxes showed the info, but as said, it becomes harder to tell them apart, especially as one's collection grows. Creating a system for myself has helped greatly. Some of mine also have Brother labels made and attached around the outside of the head and some MKI's on the battery tube with the type of batteries in them. That has made it much easier in the past to distinguish while doing beamshots in the dark and using different cells for a given flashlight head.

Changing subjects slightly....

Anybody got a Maelstrom MX3F "flood"? I saw that they're part of a sale this week. Was toying with the idea of getting one for use as a close/medium range floodlight to use with a camera.

Surprisingly I haven't seen hardly anything on CPF about this light...

Posts concerning Foursevens lights have greatly diminished since the change of ownership. 😕 It's a shame we don't "hear" more from them.

Yeah, I really miss the early days when there was lots of back-and-forth discussion with David on CPF.

Yeah, I really miss the early days when there was lots of back-and-forth discussion with David on CPF.
I'll ask about having the onboard Foursevens Prometheus Team Member, who originally worked for David, if able to chime in. I am hopeful they will try to present some information here on CPF like David used to do. Last I spoke with David >36 months now, he was working on building his own machine for himself. I too am not included with the designing and building of products, as I am not onsite at the Prometheus shop in CA.

I do have a flood reflector for the MXS, that I have not had time to install and comment on. I am assuming it may be similar to the Foursevens Maelstrom S12 in it's beam shape and pattern. Where as the current MXS has resemblances to the Maelstrom S10. I just had reconstructive finger surgery this past 23rd, and I'm still one handed for a short time while in recovery. I have the new Foursevens Onbi TiP1 that I will try to get some comments/review, and some thought and info posted to CPF.

Take Care

Thanks for the info, and yikes on the finger surgery. I'm hoping your recovery goes well.
