I have a '77 F150 with the 300. Solid old engine. I don't expect most modern high compression, multi-turbo engines to last nearly as long, but I'm looking forward to being wrong.Ford 300ci straight six was a great motor. I had one in a '68 Bronco. Long stroke motor, loved the low end torque.
Bet that new Dodge will be a pricey truck

Ford isn't abandoning the V8 like other manufacturers

"the ZR1 packed a supercharged 6.2-liter pushrod V8 under the hood and sent 755 hp and 715 lb-ft of torque through a seven-speed manual or eight-speed automatic to the rear wheels."
That power in a mid engined Vette, wow
Good luck getting one
+That was the C7 specs, I'm betting the C8 ZR1 will be the same 5.5 from the Z06 just twin turbo and upwards of 800hp.
The "unthinkable" part is no other US maker besides Cadillac has ever had a twin turbo V8 performance car and more that 755HP. The CT6V had a 4.2L TTV8 in a big heavy sedan and was only rated for 500-525HP. So I'm betting the C8 ZR1 is the first TTV8 US made car with more than 755HP.
I love the looks of the recent Taco's, but they just don't have enough legroom for a cat like me.
I'm just still blown away by the concept of a front-wheel drive truck.... and the fact that a sizeable amount of people are buying it.I love the looks of the recent Taco's, but they just don't have enough legroom for a cat like me.
Weirdly, the Ford Maverick beats it by a few inches. To my experience anyway.
It's a shame, they are still top 3 best trucks on the market, and hold their value like a Jeep.
Plenty of people just need a workable bed on a light truck.. The maverick isn't really meant to haul too much weight, and I wouldn't tow much of anything with it. Hell, the bed isn't really that big on them anyway. It's a glorified, street legal golf cart, and anybody buying them needs to make sure that's what they want. It fills that need well.I'm just still blown away by the concept of a front-wheel drive truck.... and the fact that a sizeable amount of people are buying it.
