How to intrepret different light outputs

oh...sorry if I have spread bad info. I assumed that they were the same since the product pdf sheets seem to be identical. If you find the specific differences, please share:) JW Speaker "markets" the TS4000 as off-road only. I don't think there would be any other way for them to market a light...

Replacing fog lights with something useful

Although it won't fit like an OE assembly, perhaps a JW Speaker 8801 low beam would be a possible install? The 4x6 dimension will likely/possibly fill the OE fascia hole if the existing fog assembly and bezel were removed.

How to intrepret different light outputs

Isn't the 8710 the same light as the TS4000, except that the TS4000 has a pedestal mount? The pedestal mount sure is easier to use for auxiliary lights. And I will second the idea that these are excellent for use on the highway as described in the op. I don't think the TS4000 are the best...

    Blast resistant == really tactical

In addition to the explanation on Nitecore's website, there are some interesting additional details about what the classification standards mean in this review: https://m.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/4akg03/review_nitecore_ef1_explosionproof_flashlight/

    I hope this doesn't become a trend

What I got from that info is that the federal government just isn't applying/enforcing the FMVSS to owner made changes. Each state will be the agency enforcing it's vehicle code to control an owner's modifications... so many upgrades may still fall into an illegal category. It seems however...

    Aftermarket driviNg lights-LED?

I haven't had a chance to compare them side by side with the other highly recommended lights, but I can describe my initial thoughts:) - Maybe it will help you decide if it's the type of beam you want. I was excited to get them and the first thing I did was light up the inside wall of a shop...

    Aftermarket driviNg lights-LED?

I believe multiple LEDs in a wide bar type of light would only reduce shadows at very close ranges like inches or a foot or two. This is a benefit for floody close range illumination. Beyond that, at the distances being illuminated by driving lights, this benefit of eliminating shadows...

    Aftermarket driviNg lights-LED?

No - those are sold as a kit of two for $550 I haven't seen the beam pattern for the 9" Super Oscars but Amazon has the 700lm ones for $240 each! Has anyone seen what the pattern is like? I'd love to hear if you have:poke:....:D

    Aftermarket driviNg lights-LED?

I 100% agree with the recommendation to be careful with light bars. It's shocking, but most modern vehicle's high beams will easily shine farther than most of the light bars available. There are some exceptions but they are going to get close to the $800 - $1000 range. One helpful tip for...

    Aftermarket driviNg lights-LED?

As long as the number of lights and your mounting locations are legal, and as long as the auxiliary lights are only activated with OEM high beams, it opens the door legally to options like the JW Speaker TS4000 and the Hella Rallye 4000 lamps mentioned above. In the event of a code enforcement...

    Aftermarket driviNg lights-LED?

I'm a big fan of the JW Speaker products since they literally outshine the other options I've compared them to. In Idaho, are your auxiliary driving lights required to meet SAE standards? If yes, the TS3001 lights offer a driving beam that meets SAE Y standard and are offered at a fairly decent...

JW Speaker 8631 - too cool!

Thanks MadMike! Nice options - hopefully they do fit! EDIT: I just watched the video about how to install lights in their housings and the light they use is the 8630 so they do fit. The bezel/lock ring system looks good and I appreciate the efforts to allow for better air flow inside the...

JW Speaker 8631 - too cool!

Yea - I'm pretty sure this was a calculated and methodical effort to get in my wallet... And it worked:) They are spendy for sure. The price for the regular high/low 8630 is not bad, but add roughly 20% for the DRL version of the 8630 and roughly another 20% to get the 8631 and cha-Ching! I...
