What is the purpose of UV flashlights?

If anyone else did not mention this: I've used UV flashlights for detecting a refrigerant leak in an HVAC system, of which I confirmed one on my Dad's old truck (a 2006 Ford F150 that he has since parted ways with) and checking for mold in my parents' house after Hurricane Ida, which, thank...

PowerTac Valor which is my current EDC as of March 2022. For most of 2021 it was a Fenix E20 2.0. In 2019 and 2020 it was a Streamlight Junior LED (225 Lumen version.) In 2018 it was a NiteCore MT20A then later a Streamlight Pro Tac 2 AA. Prior to this it was mostly Mini Maglites.

Flashlights in TV shows and movies (Part 4)

Did anyone happen to see the March 23, 2020 episode of "The Good Doctor"? and happen to notice what was the model and make of flashlight that Doctor Shaun Murphy pulled out of his pants pocket while trying to resuce victims in the building collapse? I'm guessing it was either a NiteCore or a...

A Review of the Streamlight Pro Tac 2 AAA Tactical Penlight

I apologize. I did not know that rule applied. It must be a newer rule because I've been on here (CPF) since 2011 and there has been talk about using flashlights for self defense many times in the past. Just take down the post, then, and I won't post any more reviews where I advocate the use...

My Interest in Pocket Sized “Industrial” Flashlights

Growing up in highly industrialized South Louisiana as a child, there were plenty of Industrial and Contractor grade flashlights available. My family didn't subscribe to Internet until the Summer of 2000, when I was 13.5, so I had a very limited knowledge of what flashlights were exactly available.

My Interest in Pocket Sized “Industrial” Flashlights

I have a razor sharp memory and can even recall events in my life prior to my first birthday. Thank you for your concern and advise, I'm glad to say that I don't have the Flu or Pnemonia, Praise God, but I am battling a severe sinus infection that basically feels as bad as the Flu. That is...

My Interest in Pocket Sized “Industrial” Flashlights

I own a bunch of Maglites, but I don't use them like I used to. They are mostly backup lights and I have some incandescent ones stockpiled in case of an EMP. I was eighteen when I switched from Industrial to Tactical, but throughout my childhood, I was hooked on Industrial types of...
