Does anyone know if it's possible to use the Malkoff MDC 2AA tail switch on the M61 HOT MD2, and if it's already been discussed in this thread, on which page that answer may be?
I presume that the tail ends of both lights are not matching diameters, but I hope I'm incorrect.
I know about the...

I too have recently been considering a 2 AA throw light.
One option that arose was Pelican 2360.
Specs on their website show 375 lumens throwing 9187 cd (presumably candlepower).
That's not quite the level of the Fenix E20 which is *spec'd at 265 lumens for 11000 cd), but it's in...
I would love to see Elzetta offer a light with electronics designed for 2 AA, providing fully current regulated 10 lumen low, and 80 lumen high.
I have a Surefire E2L-AA, but an Elzetta AA would be great.

I've searched and not found basics on a homemade low output LED light.
Does anyone have any sources to direct to, or basic steps and parts, specifically electronics (driver, resistor, converter, etc. and where to buy) for a self made low lumen light (around 5 to 15 lumens), as close to fully...
calipsoii,
Thanks for your input, that's really helpful.
Sorry about the lacking specificity on my run-time conclusion.
I need at least 200 candlepower, and that is what I used to measure from the chart, which is the same one you posted the link to.
On that chart the 1 AA alkaline El Cap...
Thanks jorgen.
I have read posts here, that Peak resumed offering the single level output option (directly from Peak offices), after the QTC showed sustained problems with consistent light output, because of QTC material having particles flaking off; from cold temperatures, or from long term or...
The RMSK website has an information section showing the different power level El Capitan run-times on different battery chemistries.
On one alkaline, it runs only about an hour (16 approx. lumens) and on two alkalines it reaches 12 hours.
I just wonder if anyone has first hand experience...
