Flashlights for around the house/cars for outages. Lithium rechargeable?

I prefer lithium rechargeable, since you can recharge them in your car if you are not around any power source. I got into buying Fenix as they have a good all around perfomance.

    Over Voltage?

The website says up to 8.4 volts, but the manual says 2-CR123 batteries "BANNED"

    Hiking in the nude

I really wish nudity was accepted in the U.S.A. Once I am home my clothes are off immediately, and it's the best feeling. There are times I wish I could just walk outside to get the mail, or answer the door without any worries.

    No-drain wall-mounted light?

You make it sound life or death situation, but you put a price on it. I am guessing your life is worth what you pay.

Looking for a keeper EDC light.

It depends on what you are looking for in a flashlight. From what I understand is HDS is well built, but they are not high output lights. I personally prefer high output for times I really need to light up an area.

Help deciding on a 21700 Torch

I also recommend looking into buying this, or Imalent DM70. The Acebeam L30II and Fenix PD40R V2 are good lights.

    First 18650 light.

If you don't need a super throwy lights, then look at Acebeam L16, Fenix PD36R, and I just ordered the Fenix PD40R V2. Acebeam & Fenix have been reliable lights for me.

    First 18650 light.

There are so many more brands and lights out there that I would really consider before you make your decision. How far do you need it to throw, How bright do you need it, what size, etc. Also there are newer lights using the 21700 battery now.

    Really Surefire?!

I actually visited Surefire in Fountain Valley, CA., and I can tell you that Surefire does not care about their customers. They are too busy dealing with companies that buy in bulk.
