Solution for Malkoff Contact Issues in Surefire 6P's

I have some of the spring washers. When installed they rest on a small rim in the flashlight body at the top of the battery compartment (this rim is where the spring on the old P60 bulbs used to sit). I chose not to use a washer because the washer blocks the Malkoff module from going slightly...

Solution for Malkoff Contact Issues in Surefire 6P's

Contact between the module and the flashlight body with the Malkoff's that I have is made when the completely tightened bezel pushes the taper at the bottom of the Malkoff into the opening of the battery compartment in the flashlight. Copper and aluminum are certainly a simpler solution. But...

Solution for Malkoff Contact Issues in Surefire 6P's

I have a couple of Surefire C2's with Malkoff M61 and M361 modules in them. I have experienced instances where loosening the bezel just a few degrees causes a loss of contact between the module and the inside of the flashlight, and consequently the light does not turn on when I press the switch...

    *NEW* Surefire Titan-A (1*AAA, 15/125 lumen)

I received a Titan yesterday that I had ordered directly from Surefire. Dropped an Energizer Advanced Lithium into it with no problems. And it's not even a tight fit. The battery actually has a little "wiggle room" inside the body of the light. I had called Surefire and asked about the...

Review UPDATED: SureFire Titan AAA Black 15/125 Lumen Warning: Pic Heavy

I received a Titan yesterday that I had ordered directly from Surefire. Dropped an Energizer Advanced Lithium into it with no problems. And it's not even a tight fit. The battery actually has a little "wiggle room" inside the body of the light. I had called Surefire and asked about the...

Putting a Hard Surface on Titanium Flashlights

Thanks to everyone for their input. The DLC coating is along the lines of what I am looking for. I will do some follow up, and if I am successful I will let everyone know what I learned. Being covert wasn't a concern. Its mainly protecting the titanium from scratches and abrasions.

Putting a Hard Surface on Titanium Flashlights

Does anyone know where a person would go to have a titanium flashing "coated" to protect it from scratches? Something similar to the way aluminum is coated with Mil Spec Type III anodization? The color would have to be something matt, not unlike the finish provided by anodized aluminum or...

    Malkoff's Excellent Customer Service

I just wanted to tell everyone about the excellent customer service provided by Gene Malkoff. I was having an unusual problem with a flashlight that was using one of his MD10's, and Gene helped me figure out what was wrong (it was NOT his MD10), and he even provided a small customized part to...

    Surefire Lanyard Self Releases

One possible solution to this issue is to use a different method to connect the lanyard to the ring that goes around the flashlight's body. http://optechusa.com/utility-loop.html The website above shows how to attach the loop to a camera. Use the same approach to connect the "Utility...

    Z44 Bezel Ring Modification

I would like to change the bezel ring on a Surefire C2-HA and install an aftermarket ring. The current ring has the six "notches" where a tool would engage the ring. I know there are various tools out there to make the bezel ring removal/installation easier, but I am wondering if there is one...

    Surefire Lanyard Self Releases

I am not sure if ElectronGuru's solution would fix the problem that I described. The ring that comes with the Surefire lanyard is small enough and thin enough that, when the wire ring on the flashlight is twisted relative to the lanyard hook, the ring can slip under the gate on the hook. The...

    Surefire Lanyard Self Releases

I haven't found any recent discussion on this topic, but I think there is a simple fix to this problem. In the past several people on the forum have mentioned that, if you twist your flashlight a certain way, the hook that Surefire provides with its lanyards will release from the wire ring that...
