Where did all the oldtimers go.

Welcome back to the more active side of CPF selfbuilt! I have taken a break for a while....maybe a decade or more. Life gets busy and other hobbies come up. I will definitely spend some time on your whisky site! I have a son, he is named Hibiki (yes it is very interesting running around the...

Sold/Expired WTB SureFire Z** tailcap - new in packaging

I would sell you one of mine (NIB Z59) but shipping to Canada from the USA is expensive (first class is about $17, flat rate priority box about $32.)

Recommendations for a Surefire Sidekick replacement...

I emailed them when the light failed 2 weeks ago. Basically said outside of the 1 year period, you are on your own. It must be a fairly recent change for the Sidekick because too many were failing and they discontinued it. @aznsx will look into it!

Recommendations for a Surefire Sidekick replacement...

Hello and Good Evening CPF! It has been a while and my last purchase from Surefire were a handful of the Sidekick keychain/fob type light. I have them as gifts and only kept one for myself. It quit working approx 2 weeks ago and I am looking for a replacement. I first tried to reach out to...

    Micro Keychain Light

I purchased a few SF sidekick lights during their $19? Black friday sale a while ago. Mine finally failed. I noticed a chip near the bezel/lens and it still worked (about 6 months ago.) I went to do a function test/charge last week and it wouldn't turn on. I charged it overnight and still...

    Old cr123

I must have used the older cells. All I have left are 2006 production cells in those APS film canisters. Kept the empty box for nostalgia I guess. Sits in my spare parts box. Found a battery station pelican 1010 case with the foam cutout for the cr123 cells (rayovac 123s are still from a while...

    Old cr123

I have some 2011-2013 dated cells with the old label and I just ran them on my ZTS tester (tests the cells under load) and was surprised to find them at 80% capacity. I intend to use them in my SF E1B or Nitecore EX10.

Blast from the past LoL. I think it was called Roar of the Pelican lithium edition (ROP LE) I built 2 of them. One for the high bulb and one for the low bulb.

Thank you! Been on and off past few years. Been too busy with work. I did manage to somehow get 2 x SF X300 weapons lights for 1 x SF XC-1B and dinner LoL. I will post some pictures next week. Been fairly busy at work.

I just wandered back. 20+ years here. I remember building a Mag 2C LE with streamlight 3894 bulb? Still sitting in my misc flashlight stuff draw. Those pictures doesn't jog my memory. I was aiming for smaller lights (ie larry lights and Photons Intl CR2 Ion type.)

Recommend Me a Light to Replace a SUREFIRE E2D LED

80s/90s? Closer to 2005-2010 time frame for the Surefire E2D ultra led if I recall correctly. A standard E2D with a MN03 bulb would be prior to that. As said by bykfixer , get another E2D ultra led, or throw a 16650 cell into your current one with a VME head and Malkoff drop in.

    Tailcap failure common?

Then again, if clickies fail, I have had lights fail even with a twisty (electronics in led module would fail at this point.) Easiest solution? Multiple flashlights! I keep a SF sidekick on my keychain, SF 6P with mcclicky (find it better than SFs offerings) in my bag, and a SF 6P with...

    Tailcap failure common?

Hello ampdude! The Z57 was an earlier one but the Z59 was the later one with one more tab I believe. I have the Z48 and Z49 but find it too bulky on my belt especially with bezel down carry. Darn thing would either get loose or really tight depending on which car I drive. The tailcap is...

    Tailcap failure common?

I have had 2 surefire and 2 malkoff switches go bad on me. A SF Z57 and a Z59 (one was dropped and stuck on and the other just failed.) The malkoff's both failed but probably from wear and tear (malkoff m60 in a 6P light and a malkoff tailcap that resides in a surefire v85a holster (bezel down...
