Just came back from a weekend camping trip. I recognized this mark on the campsite's table. Wasn't able to identify the specific model that made it though.

This one, the SureFire 6PL.
I'd been fascinated with lights since I was a child, but this was the first light that made me go "Wow!" as an adult and was the gateway drug.
Crazy isn't it? People used to make do with a lucky rabbit's foot, a treasured coin, or a rock they picked up off the ground. Now grown men spend good money on this new thing called fidget toys.
First world problems.
That escalated quickly. I just bought a bi-pin adapter and 10 A3712 bulbs from Tad.
The A2 is a reminder of why SureFire built the reputation and following they did. Such a neat piece of kit.
Definite A2 fan checking in. Received this late model yesterday along with a spare bulb. I spent a fair amount of time last night re-reading some of the old A2 threads.
What a wonderful light. Why did I wait so long to pick one up?
:grin2:
These lights were not designed with the hobbyist in mind, tinkering in a workshop at his convenience. When a bulb blew, the priority was for the soldier/police officer to be able to quickly and easily replace it. At the time a complete lamp assembly was the best way to accomplish that task.
