    Ever lost a Flashlight?

Klarus XT10 - 2019: stolen one night from my car together with a really old Garmin Nüvi... and a few soda cans. Fenix PD32 (2016 version) - 2020: lost it during a multi-day ultra race.... sleep deprivation is a *****. Fenix HM65R SuperRaptor - 2021: I had it with me in a Swiss hospital for...

What lights are on your radar in {2024}?

It's true Fenix usually output runtime graphs, though I don't think over the years it's been consistently done for all their lights. Luckily, some independent reviewers do and in the past they clearly showed how the quoted runtimes were achieved through dropdowns on all outut levels. The...

What lights are on your radar in {2024}?

Fenix PD32R but it's probalby going to have cheap circtui with memory mode and no shortcut. Fenix HM62-T: which is probably not going to be well regulated. This way they fall off the radar adn I save a few bucks!

    Fenix HL55 headlamp

Not sure if it might fit your needs but the Fenix HM62-T due for release this year very much looks like the older HL55. It just has a red light in addition to the white one as well as a lockout function. No charging and the eco mode is actually 5 lumen instead of 10 which is a good thing. Only...

    Fenix Batteries

In the past I head read that Fenix 18650s were rewraps of Pansonic or Sanmsung cells. I searched again today and can easily still find some sources online still stating this: "The Fenix 18650 3400mAh (ARB-L2S) rechargeable batteries with electronics protection (protected) are based on...

    New Fenix Catalog 2024

I agree, not much exciting coming up for 2024 in the catalog. The PD32R could be interesting as it seems to be a decent compact thrower with a hidden USB charging port, rathrer then a cheap USB-C rubber cover. This is nice to see in a compact 18650 light. I do fear that the UI will be the...

Incoming - What do you have coming in the mail??

Fenix PD32 V2. Even if the UI is dull (no shortcusts), it still works a pocket thrower.

    New Fenix Catalog 2024

A few new interesting headlamps, especially for running: The HM62-T and HM65R-T v 2.0. There is also an HM75R which is a powered-up HM65R with an internal lithium battery at the front, like the standard Hm65R, plus a separate 18650 compartment at the back, HP12-style. Lastly, a new camping...

    New Fenix Catalog 2024

The 2024 Fenix catalog is out. :buttrock: https://www.fenixlight.com/uploads/soft/20231221/1703156962.pdf There doesn't seem to be that many new flashlights or headlamps and some of them have already been released. I noticed the new PD32R. No info on the UI other than max lumens: hard to tell...

What's your favorite UI design on flashlights?

My favorite UI design would like this: Single or dual tail switch (no side switches) Easy direct access to turbo mode (no fine motor skills required) Direct access to the lowest mode (1 to 5 lumens - motor skills don't matter) In addition to that: programmable UI, well hidden SOS, and no strobe...

Thrunite rocks !!! Whats your favorite brand ?!?

I never owned a Thrunite but I have to admit they do come out with interesting designs. They managed to place a hidden USB port on their Archer Mini, an 83-mm long light, while other major manufacturers still slap those cheap rubber covers over the USB ports of their 21700 flagship lights.
