Fraen Optic for Arc LSHF Info Needed

I tried one with a "bat-wing" Luxeon 1 watt some time ago. It produced a larger hotspot with a bit of a "doughnut hole." I'm going to try one with a Cree XR-E when they arive.

    Malkoff M61WL Color Comparison?

Thanks Guru - I think the M61LHCRI is not for me. Now if I only could decide between the other two...

Fraen Optic for Arc LSHF Info Needed

The Sandwich Shoppe has 22 of the McR18 reflectors for $17 each. Not cheap, but I think worth it if it fits - I know it won't crack! As for the used Fraens you have, if you're looking to part with them, send a PM. I didn't like them at first either, but a very light diffuser gives them enough...

Fraen Optic for Arc LSHF Info Needed

Thanks for the reply, louie. I had almost forgotten about the Sandwich Shoppe - I've not been keeping up with this stuff over the last several years. I don't remember where I ordered the optic from; it was about six months ago. It looked like the right one (they didn't give the dimensions)...

Fraen Optic for Arc LSHF Info Needed

I'm trying to find a replacement optic for my beloved Arc LSHF. I ordered what I thought was the correct Fraen model, but what arrived was way too large. Does anyone know what the model number for the original optic that came with the light is and/or where I could get one? Suggestions for a...

    Malkoff M61WL Color Comparison?

Thanks, thaugen - I didn't know about the M61LHCRI! It sounds very interesting. With a 3000K tint, I just hope it's not too yellow. I'd rather have a touch of pink than a really yellow, incandescent-like color, high CRI or not.

    Malkoff M61WL Color Comparison?

Thanks, GeoBruin, for the reply. From what you say, IF it also applies to the "L" version, I would be happier with the warmer tint. I happen to really like that slight yellow/pink tint! (As a note, this is the color of the "white lead" paint that is still used by many artists because it is...

    Malkoff M61WL Color Comparison?

Thanks, James, for the reply! If I had a 6P or other metal host, I would consider the M61W. Unfortunately, my G2 is my only choice right right now and I need to run it for over ten minutes at a time. I would also like the longer run-time of the M61WL. Perhaps things have changed over the...

    Malkoff M61WL Color Comparison?

Does anyone know of beam-shots comparing the 4000K and 3700K Malkoff M61WL (or the higher or lower output version)? I spent an hour combing through the extensive Malkoff posts, but could not find one. If no beam-shots exist, a recommendation between the two would be appreciated. I have been...

    Lithium Battery Question

The "internal 'film' in lithium batteries that would be dissolved when the batteries were activated" is just an oxide layer. The cell will begin to 'grow' a new oxide layer as soon as any load is removed and it stabilizes. Within a few days to a few months (depending on the type, size, temp...

Kelloggs stops putting mercury batteries in cereal

Re: Kelloggs stops putting mercury batteries in ce Does anyone know the brand name and/or model of the cell? I wonder if it is really a mercuric oxide cell or just one that contains 'incidental' mercury. BTW, laws aside, one can still get real mercury cells such as the px625 in the USA if you...
