    Maximum PC flashlight article

Pretty good article and primer on Maximum PC. I ran a couple of searches to see if they'd been posted but didn't see anything so here they are. Never bring a Maglite to a real flashlight fight If you think the $25 flashlight you bought at Ace hardware is badass, think again. Good plug...

Jetbeam M1X on the way, which batteries should I order?

I just got a couple of AW 2600s to run in my M1X by using a "rare earth" magnet on the positive end. I believe you can get them from Radio Shack, AW, and a number of online joints. Maybe the other members could chime in. Mine came with my batteries. As for your other question, I haven't...

    JetBeam RRT-0 Raptor review

Thanks for the replies guys. I got mine back in January. Maybe they've made some changes in the latest batch. One other question. Does the silver retaining ring on the back on the light, the part that surrounds the rubber boot, sit below the bottom edge of the holes that go around the base...

    JetBeam RRT-0 Raptor review

A question to anyone that has received a light in the last couple of months. Have you had any problems with the tailcap switch like those found in this thread? BOG is slated to send me a new switch when they arrive to put in my light but for now it sits in pieces on my desk waiting for the...

Looking for a 2xAA (1xAA) multilevel plastic light.

Agreed. My Propolymer Luxeon is also on the chopping block, currently in pieces in fact. I plan on putting a SSC in it. I like my Recoil LEDs too but they could use a little help as well but I'm not talented enough to replace those LEDs. hyperloop, you are right about most uses on a boat but...

    Rubbery/Tacky Heatshrink tubing anywhere ?

Search for shrink tubing for fishing pole handles, badminton or tennis rackets. I have some that I picked up years ago that has the finish of rough-out leather. It took a heat gun rather than a hair dryer to shrink it and unfortunately I don't know the maker. Also Plasti-dip does not peal if...

Easy way to add some grip to an old SureFire 6P

You might try "grip" heat shrink tubing. It's used on fishing pole, badminton, tennis racket, tool and other handles. I have some I put on a Japanese hatchet years ago and it still fits snugly. It feels a little like rough-out leather and isn't tacky like some grip tapes. -LT

Looking for a 2xAA (1xAA) multilevel plastic light.

nbp, unfortunately this will be more for walks on the beach, room illumination during blackouts, and work on boats for night fishing etc. so it will probably be used for longer stretches. I went ahead and ordered one of each size from Brightguy and hope I receive them here before my next foray...

Looking for a 2xAA (1xAA) multilevel plastic light.

Thanks for the input npb. The Icon Modus hadn't shown up on my radar. I've done a little reading on it and I'm not snapped about the regulation but in nearly all other respects it looks like it will work for what I need. I'll have to get one to try out. I'm going to keep looking though...

    absolutely the smallest LED flashlight?

These are the smallest I've seen but the micro Fauxton is no longer available from the CPF member. I believe they came from Hong Kong. -LT

Looking for a 2xAA (1xAA) multilevel plastic light.

In the past I've used Tektite and other multi 5mm LED lights for traveling when I'll be in or around the beach or ocean but I'm looking for something with more power. I've looked at UK, Princeton Tec, Streamlight, and Pelican and I've only found a Streamlight, 2xAA Propoly, to fit my basic...

    My RRT-0 arrived today...Major Problems!

I received the brass spacer ring here in Japan recently and thought I would share my installation procedure and difficulties. First up was the scalloped retaining piece around the back of the light. (click thumbnails to enlarge) I have a standard ring removal tool designed for holes not...

    My RRT-0 arrived today...Major Problems!

I agree, one more detent would have been a better setup IMO. How is your glass cracking? Does it split across the lens or shatter near the edge? -LT

    My RRT-0 arrived today...Major Problems!

I don't recall mine having that delay. I'll have to check it when I get the shim installed. On the low that's closer to med, I noticed that the 1st and 2nd levels were pretty close on mine so I try to leave it in the "low-low" mode that I read about in the instructions. I haven't had it...
