    My Bolt Mini just arrived today and it's been great fun to play with! A quick question about the mode memory: I've noticed that it takes a very long time for the mode to memorize (~10 seconds). Is this normal? It feels a little excessive. Other than that, it's fantastic.

    Peak Eiger and QTC

    QTC can be finicky at times, but I found with my Eiger that cleaning the threads usually helps with that. With regards to grease, I use NyoGel 760g and it works great. Hope this helps!

    Great review! Not sure if you found this in your testing, but there's an undocumented shortcut to low white from off: hold the primary control button until the white light comes on, but release before it goes to beacon mode.

    QTC differences

    I've never had experience with QTC 1 so I can't offer a direct comparison, but I've found QTC 2 to be "smooth enough" to be useful (there is some flickering at the very beginning when turning it on as it settles), and QTC 2.1 to be smoother still.

    I know the feeling of not wanting to scratch your new HDS. Perhaps an idea might be to put a piece of paper or something between the body of the light and the clip when putting it on? It might be really difficult to remove the paper afterwards though; it's a super duper tight fit.

    I rested the top of the clip on the stop screw so that the rotary dial won't rub against the clip. I was definitely concerned about scratching the body when I put the clip on, since it's such a tight fit, but the anodizing that Henry puts on the light is super tough; no scratches on mine at all.

    My Quick Streamlight MicroStream Review

    Led-resource did a review on the C4 Microstream and in it there's a graph with alkaline, NiMH and lithium primary cell run times. There's a steep dropoff for all three cell types, so the light appears to be regulated.

    I found that the tint turns greenish on high when the batteries are drained to the point where it can no longer provide enough power to maintain 160 lumens. Putting new batteries in the P2 should correct that.
