How to benchmark battery in flashlight, low temperature performance

I have Zebralight H600... and TrustFire cells from dx.com. TrustFire cells may have been a mistake. Anyway... they do perform as advertised -- when benchmarking, it gives > 1 hour on 420lm. Not bad. it also has low light modes, like 65lm and 3lm. Using the low-power modes will make battery last...

    What Light For Horseback Riding?

Headlight for the horse? No problem :-). http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pavel/picture/horses/zernovka44/p1010019.jpg . But it is quite amusing for the other riders, and think about what happens if you happen to fall. For rider, I can recommend zebralight h600, and a good battery. See "Petzl...

Petzl Nao vs. Zebralight H600 (aka alone in the dark)

Ok, so I had a chance to play with Zebralight H600, and it is a great flashlight (and great gift from my great girlfriend). Unlike Petzl Nao, it is small enough to fit under the helmet, so that you can actually use it for riding. Ouch, and packing is also way nicer than Petzl; simple cardboard...

Does Anybody Have Any Suggestions On a Headlamp For Horseback Riding?

Yes, L2 is still a bit too bright -- I blind for people around me who have no flashlights. I guess I'll try L2 rotated against my head. L1 is _way_ too bright.

Does Anybody Have Any Suggestions On a Headlamp For Horseback Riding?

My girlfriend got me Zebralight h600. It seems to work pretty much okay; low power mode is still a bit too powerful, and zebra is a bit picky about battery insertion, but it seems to do the job. It is small enough to fit under a helmet. It does bounce a bit, but works pretty well.

light for horseback riding (and Petzl Nao rant)

I guess I should comment on this one. Yes, I guess horses have better night vision than people; and yes, turning on headlamp on horseback in black night is bad idea. (Even horse that was nice and very used to headlamps reacted to that one). Fortunately horses can't complain much, and yes they...

light for horseback riding (and Petzl Nao rant)

Actually, it is not that bad idea. I did it before, it works.http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pavel/picture/horses/zernovka44/p1010019.jpgBut with light on the horse, I'd need second light for me. To see branches near my head, and for the situation when horse goes home alone.Helmet mount might...

Does Anybody Have Any Suggestions On a Headlamp For Horseback Riding?

Well.... http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pavel/picture/horses/zernovka44/p1010019.jpg:-).Anyway... you can ride with headlamp, and it works pretty well. Horse night vision... maybe it is better than human (and they kind-of try to use sonar, too), but I have seen horses refusing to go somewhere...

light for horseback riding (and Petzl Nao rant)

Okay... so I like to ride my horse at night. I modded few headlights in past, and found that I sometimes like to use _very_ low power levels. Like 10uW (That's 0.001 lumen IIRC), because they preserve night vision, don't annoy people around me too badly. I even put a headlamp on a horse... it...
