    Powerex MH-C9000 died.

So my MH-C9000 died after 7 years! I'd say I got my money's worth out of it! It's display died and no longer shows anything. I got a Vapcell S4 plus to replace it. Absolutely amazing charger!

    Who makes EdisonBright NiMH cells?

Like the title says, does anyone know? I ordered some eneloops to replace my very old worn out first gen ones. They popped up in my suggested.

    Internal resistance- is it curable?

Yeah, more often times then not, high IR is very hard to keep away once it starts, what charger did you get?

    Samsung INR18650 very low voltage!

Exactly why I always check them before I charge them, don't need one going :poof: All the other ones I pulled today are healthy except for 1 or 2.

    Samsung INR18650 very low voltage!

The LG cell was from a different pack, all the Samsung's are the same.

    Samsung INR18650 very low voltage!

Thought I would throw this up here since it's odd. I dismantled a power tool pack for the 18650s, each and every one reads about 1.55+ volts, I compared it to a fully charged LG cell, 4.3 or so volts since it had a bit of use. I'm not trusting these at all for anything, the voltage is way too...

Bad AA Battery? One discharging faster than the others, not charging fully(?)

Yeah, sounds like one cell is bad. One of my Fujitsu cells did a similar thing and after a few charge cycles my MH-C9000 rejected it as high. The others from the same pack are just fine and still going with no capacity drop as far as I can tell.

    Laptop pack almost went poof!

Yeah, I tried that and it still got hot, not trusting it and I replaced it with a knock off

    Are NiMH Batteries Dying Out?

Yeah, I really don't think NiMH is dying. Like others have said, items are still being made that use AA-AAA cells. Such as my Xbox controllers, the cheap li-ion rechargeable pack that I got with it for the controller is only 1400 mAh, while my eneloops are 2000. I've never had a NiMH overheat on...

Official one, no recalls, will post the model number later today

    Laptop pack almost went poof!

Like the title says, was working on a Dell laptop here, the battery pack got VERY hot! I pulled it out of the machine and brought it outside where it can't do any harm if it does go :poof: Not risking my house for a laptop!

    AA Alkaline Goes "POP!"

Sounds like the end seal of the cell failed, and the alkaline chemistry can generate hydrogen, so it built up pressure and shot the end off when you unscrewed it!

Recharging Energizer Ultimate Lithiums - Controlled experiments

They especially won't cover it if they see this thread after we all told him to stop! Him doing it outside still isn't controlled enough! He needs a lot more then that!

Recharging Energizer Ultimate Lithiums - Controlled experiments

NiMH vents hydrogen, lithium ion and primaries vent hydrogen fluoride, which when inhaled converts to hydrofluoric acid. If he wants to he can inhale it, but it can be deadly!

Recharging Energizer Ultimate Lithiums - Controlled experiments

The OP did a controlled experiment..daan_deurloo is risking a LOT by trying it!
