    LUX METER HELP/SUGGESTIONS

I have a couple meters. One is a mid level meter - Extech EA31 and the other a fairly cheap meter - Mastech LX1330B from Amazon. From my personal experience, they actually measure surprising close. So I feell as long as its not super super cheap, the meter will likely do the job that us hobbiest...

Yes another LED Headlight conversion question

Alaric, thanks for all the points and suggestions. I will certainly look for the bulbs you suggested and minimize my use of my fog lamps. Only point I do have in dispute is the HID projector retrofits. After years of good trouble service to me, with only 1 apposing driver complaint (a flash)...

Yes another LED Headlight conversion question

Thanks for the input. Chevy calls them "fog lamps". Please explain why they shouldn't be used. And yes I should have read here more before I posted, but you guys are bringing up more points and issues than I knew to look for before this thread. I tend to use fog lamps in my vehicles to assist...

Yes another LED Headlight conversion question

Guys if this helps, the vehicle I am referring to is a 14' Camaro SS. Non RS, meaning no HID's. Didn't care for the HID enabled RS model since it added chrome and other features I did not like. So stuck with no HID's. The new 14' model has separate low and high beams, and DRL's. And...

Yes another LED Headlight conversion question

Thanks for the input. These are the answers I was looking for. I will stay away from them. Is the Nighthawk platinums available in the H11 style? I'm not seeing them. I assume the H9 you refer are a step up powerwise due to the shorter lifespan? Do they come in the Nighthawks?

Yes another LED Headlight conversion question

Man you guys are tough. As for weight - it should be a non issue if they are in secure. IF is the key word though. I had HID Projector retrofits installed in my reflector housings in my last vehicle and it was a non issue. I had the reflector itself painted flat black to prevent any inproper...

Yes another LED Headlight conversion question

Ok, I know it's a no-no to do any type of bulb conversion for a regular reflector based light housing in the auto world. However being a LED flashlight enthusiast, I came across a new design that looks like it has true potential. It 's interesting at a minimum with the fact that it uses a dual...

    WTS: S200C2vn - Baby Throw King 122K Lux - 690 OTF Lumen

The 137K number of my S200C2 equates to 740 meters in throw. The 192K number of our stock TK61 equates to 876 meters in throw. That stock TK61 is my brothers that he just bought last week. My TK61vn which I tested at 622K equates to 1577 meters in throw.

    WTS: S200C2vn - Baby Throw King 122K Lux - 690 OTF Lumen

Ah. That helps bring our numbers closer then. I had recorded 728 lumens after 30 seconds and 137Kcd. I was using high drain cells though. So looks like we will line up nicely now with your newest numbers you will be releasing soon. Irregardless I know we have the usual led and manufacture...

    WTS: S200C2vn - Baby Throw King 122K Lux - 690 OTF Lumen

Got my S200C2 in yesterday. It is a nice little light. Sized about like a C8. Tested it right away. Lined up nicely with self-built's numbers, but just a tick higher at 728 lumens and 136k. Our meters and lightboxs tend to be a couple percent off, plus you have the usual LED variances. Also...

625 Meter Beamshots Of Many Vinh Lights And Others

All lights have quality cells at least 4.10v or more. Usually 4.20v if time allows. If the light needs high draw batteries, like the supershocker for instance, we run them in it. Usually 20R's. Most of the regulated lights, like tn31vn that doesn't benefit from high draw cells, i usually just...

    Fenix TK61vn (XM-L2, 4x18650/8xCR123A) Dedome Modded Review: BEAMSHOTS, RUNTIME+

Nice review on an awesome light. I'm glad to see we are in the same ballpark testing wise. Unfortunately most of us hobbiest cannot afford true integrated sheres, so we do the best with what we can make & afford. And of course we have to create multiplier baselines from lights that are "rated"...
