    Got mine today. Does your tail cap come off? Mine seems to be stuck or glued on. Strange that the button is a bit lower in profile than the previous gen yet it cannot tailstand.

    Nitecore MT10A: advertised lumens?

    If you look at the run times chart on the Nitecore page you listed it shows that on a 1xAA Turbo is only 170 lumen. The run time at that level seems a bit optimistic to me, but pretty long. Going with the 14500 will get you that higher lumen number, but only for limited runtimes.

    Recommend a 2xAA light

    I have a XM-L2 D25A2. I like it quite a bit, it was the first light I got that has a moonlight mode, and use it often. It is plenty bright, and has a very usable floody beam. I know they have since come out with a few updated 2xAA offerings including a tactical one with a forward clicky...

    Maglite ML50?

    I haven't seen it before, looks new to me. By the description it is the same as the ML300L (3rd gen D cell LED) but it runs on C batteries. The above BH link says it has 4 mode groups that are switchable. Going to be on the look out for this one!
