I just wanted to thank everyone for the suggestions and let you know that I decided on another malkoff mdc aa that my g/f ordered and malkoff shipped this morning...
Realistically the 100 or so lumens is enough for 99% of my needs (especially for a daily carry) and I have brighter lights in all...
The malkoff cr123 fits my needs in most all aspects with the exception of rechargeable batteries...
Does anybody know if you can run the lifepo4 chemistry batteries in it?
If so recommendations for a decent charger and cells?
I did consider the 16650... Little too high on high and doesn't get as low as I'd like...
I HAD a malkoff AA light that I lost recently.. Hence why I'm familiar with the line and the need for a new light...
I loved that little guy but it could have been a little brighter sometimes..
Yup saw the 361.. little excessive for my needs...Although... If I put the hi/low on it I could end up with a 6 speed..... Boy, that's an idea...
Anybody have ideas on what the steps would be on that?
Hugh.... I'd really like a made in USA light..
Actually.. I did look at those.. Another requirement I forgot to list is the need for a "middle" setting of maybe 20/30 lumens...
Malkoff makes REAL nice stuff tho
My g/f is interested in buying me a new light for my birthday so I'm hunting recommendations...
I'd like EDC size.. Like a maybe 4.5x1 inch .
Tail clicky.. 2-300max lumens.. Sub 5 lumen low..
Batteries MUST be rechargeable... I have a AA/AAA charger as well as an 18650/17500/14500 etc...
I know what you mean... I've got a bunch of lights around here as well... MOSTLY Maglites either mini or D-cell sized ones in both the LED and incandescent flavors
I've also got an old jetbeam ba20 that I used for quite awhile but my daughter has commandeered it to stay in her car for running...
Man, I appreciate those pictures...
I'm pretty sure I'm going to have him drop the "N" version in the turnkey md2 when I order..
I promised the war/financial advisor (wife) that I wouldn't buy a new light until I get my income tax return so I'm still waiting on my favorite uncle to cut me a...
That's funny..... I looked HARD at one of these and decided to go with the Malkoff md2 instead..
I'll probably order it with the M61N tho...
Just curious, why are you swapping them?
The main reason fueling my decision in favor of the Malkoff are the warranty and keeping $ in the USA..
When I...
Actually, yeah, I looked at the specs again and you're right... I likely had it confused with some of the bigger heads I was drooling over..
I appreciate the flattop info... I thought so but I wanted to be positive...
Hopefully there'll still be "turnkey" ones in stock when I get the funds...
Edit to my original post... Trailer searching is at 25 YARDS... 75 foot... Several yards I go to have trailers on each side and it's easiest to cruise down the middle looking at each side... Sorry about that...
Flat top cells?
I wish they had the high output drop in available in the same...
After MUCH research I'mm 99% sure that my next light WILL be a Malkoff MD2.........
The big trouble I'm having is the decision of going "turnkey" or DIY...
The "turnkey" comes with the standard head and the standard M61 dropin
IF I go DIY I'm planning on buying the tailswitch and body with...
