Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I bought this torch in 2012 from Amazon in order to do a polymer P60 host comparison. I did thorough research and purchased every single known polymer P60 host and was getting ready to make a nice, informative post comparing the switches/build quality, weight...
Well, I haven't logged into CPF in over 10 years, I'm pretty sure, but I used to be a Surefire lego nut. I recently got back into the light hobby after a long hiatus. I had a guy in Michigan who used to bore my 6P bodies for $25 a piece.. he did a great job... I sold most of them but I do have...
Resurrecting an old thread - After only one month of owning this light (with VERY minimal usage), the switch broke. Sunwayman has been giving me the runaround. I've now had multiple Zebralights, Fenixes, Sunwaymen, and Nitecores go **** up on me. EagTac and Thrunite are the only "high-end"...
It turns out it was just early onset dementia kicking in... I thought I had grabbed a tested pair of freshly charged cells but instead accidentally grabbed two cells of nefarious manufacture at unknown charge levels that happened to look identical at first glance and were at the wrong place at...
Haven't been around in awhile. Been busy working 80-90 hours a week trying to save my house from the IRS. Anyway, due to my current financial situation, I've been unable to keep up with new lights. When I saw these drop ins though and what they were going for, I figured I'd pick one up and...
Reminds me of a discussion I had a while back with some fellow CPFers about the luminous efficacy of green LEDs...
I think it's awesome, even if its uses are limited. Color LEDs rock the party.
The Y300 is just leaving me scratching my head...
The MV300 - 150 lumens??? What??? I would have...
Re: Zebralight SC52 & SC52w
I ordered one of these a few days ago... it should be with me shortly... Copper was the only metal besides sterling silver that I've seen a light made out of that I've never owned. Plus I have a few thousand primaries sitting around, I need to start using them...
Both Zebralights that I've owned had the same problem and BOTH of the switches stopped functioning around the same time after MINIMAL use (about 8 months later). I sent them in for replacements, sold them (with a guilty conscience), and never looked back. I really wanted to like ZL, but can...
Yeah, but I wish it hadn't - she turned out being my psycho girlfriend for about a year before I dumped her and found my current woman/fiancee/wife.
The lack of running water, A/C and deodorant didn't help though...
Although we had lots of fun, hehe, I was away from my aging dad and brother...
Yes... the purple ring and yellow hotspot... With a proper optic this could be corrected. I am currently experimenting with the XT-E LED and have had some very encouraging results.
Re: The 2013 Flashaholic's "Must-Have" List -- Cast Your Vote!
As far as lights that actually came out in 2012?
Quantum DD
Surefire Fury P2X
Ummmm...
I think the flashlight community needs to start a "Flashlight Award" program with a prize of some sort - divide them out into categories and...
XR-E? Seriously? Let's just recommend him a Lux III while we're at it... XR-E is dead technology as far as I'm concerned and the XP-E isn't far behind. They were fantastic for the time, but outdated is an understatement. If you don't care about heat, low run-times, beam artifacts, etc...
I've read mixed reviews about the Viridian products... Some people love them and others think they're a pile of dung. For something that will set you back a few hundred dollars, I would hope for a better warranty than 12 months though. I've never been a big fan of lasers on my weapons, as...
I use Streamlight weaponlights but can't honestly say that I've ever owned one of their actual flashlights. The TLR-1, TLR-3, and TLR-4 are all good to go in my books. All have withstood incredible punishment with very hot handloads and keep ticking. If I weren't such a Surefire nut, I'd...
Just for you... No tripod or image stabilization, Quantum DD on fresh cell on second charge - compared with common Surefire P60 with new Surefire primaries. Beamshots taken at 12 and 40 feet.
First, 12 ft control:
