I haven't found a service. Just figuring out the basics before even trying. The last thing I want to do is find a service, pay a lot of money and find out I need to remove extremely hard coating from threads because the light won't work.
Re: DriverVN - A User Programmable Circuit!
Just watched the video and now I get it. Seems like a good driver. Has anyone tried it with a twisty? Forward clicky?
I sent an email but I figure I'd get input from users here as well since I haven't been keeping up with industry since 2007. I have an Exolion Ti CR2 from 2006. It looks like this:
It has a TXOH Luxeon III which is quite dated. The driver is a Flupic, board is etched 'v4'. Reflector is a...
Thanks for the effortpost Driver!
If I'm not mistaken, the LuxIII I have should have a 5.5-5.8mm dome. The reflector is a McGizmo McR-16. And if I decide to put an XM-L in there, it should at least fit as the dome diameter of the XM-L should be a little less than 5mm. Not sure about XM-L...
Original Exolion Ti CR2 with the flupic.
How much more efficient are modern equivalent wattage emitters? I'm basically trying to figure out if its worth it to try to swap the emitter.
I bought a RCR2 powered custom light back in 2006 with a 'TXOH emitter'. Its been so long since I can't remember what kind of emitter that was and google isn't helping. I think its a Luxeon 3?
Does anyone know? How would it stack up to current comparable modern emitter per watt?
So I'm seeing a lot of circuits for sale and they mostly differ in the IC used.
LM2577 - 52khz
LM2596 - 150khz
XL6009 - 400khz
Not so sure about efficiency for 5v => 7.2v for those ICs and how much the rest of the circuit affects that.
