    So I dove in and ordered a FF PL47 and went to a reliable UK battery supplier and got 2x Samsung 40T's... All good I thought, that was until I read on another forum that the 40T will burn out the 219b Nichias I ordered for mine... So looks like I'll need to get a Samsung 50e for it instead...

    Thanks folks, I'm pretty sure it's authentic. It appears this light misbehaves when it gets down to 3.5v. Just tested it on a full charge and all ok! Phew!Good to know though!

    Thanks, I'm looking at this with the floody optic. Anyone tell me what sort of heat this gives at say 1000lm? I'll not need full output and plan to put a magnet on the tailcap so it can stick to a panel on my van. Wouldn't want to damage the paint!
