    Differences Fenix PD32 - UC35 V2.0 Recharg - UC30 Recharg

What are the differences in these three lights? I know the lumens are close and light spacing modes are similar, two are rechargeable. What else, is there a difference in tint? I don't know enough by looking at the type of cree and know the characteristics of that LED. One is not...

New Product Announcement: NITECORE EC4GTS 1800 Lumen Long Throw Search Flashlight

I want to buy one of these in the next few days, how do I know I am getting a newer one with the parasitic drain fixed and what tells me if a dealer sends me one that has been on the shelf of the old design?

Thanks for the useful info, that's what I was looking for. That gives an idea to anyone reading how bright bright is in a given environment.

    Useful Flashlight Lumens and Spread

Yes my Dad would not like anything too difficult to operate but he is 78 and probably show his friends the cool light and output than switch down to a lower mode most of the time. Didn't think about the focal lenth of the beam, probably a balanced flood and not a particular thrower, nice...

    Useful Flashlight Lumens and Spread

Yes I figured that to be the case and thought about leaving that bit of info but I wanted to give info as to who might be using the light, woman, child, 78 yr old Dad who would use what is a useful lumen output more often and the other outputs less. I have narrowed down the lights I am looking...

Thanks reppans. Not sure why this thread was moved to Recommend as this was started in General Discussion as a general discussion regarding lumens.

    Useful Flashlight Lumens and Spread

What are useful light outputs for a utility flashlight and what spreads are too close to be noticeable. I have never had one of these but just my research I have wondered if you cut the output in half would be a good start, ie: 800 - 400 - 200 - 70 etcs., not exactly but something not too far...

    pd35

How hot does the flashlight get in the high 450 mode, hot as in uncomfortable after X minutes or just warm for 20-30 minute on time? I think I read in the turbo mode it gets too warm to hold comfortably. Thanks Terry

    Flashlight Help

Thanks Cereal Killer for the info. I read through the issue of the batteries from 4Seven explode & burn. I will be using a single cell so that should help to reduce problems although thanks for letting me know, I had no idea of the issues about mixing cells of different voltage. I will...

    Flashlight Help

I will do more research on Li-ions but what would I use if not Li-ions? All these lights from what I see Li-ions are what they use or recommended. 3. I had not realized that, thanks for the info. Regarding venting with flame issue, if you put 2 CR123's together, wouldn't they be the same...

    Flashlight Help

Rich, Thanks for the reply. Yes an 18650 type might be a little large for packet carry, from the little knowledge I have, the CR123 lights do not handle or CR123 are not rechargeable batteries but I have not researched it enough. A friend showed me the first experience of a high power light...

    Flashlight Help

After pouring over threads here, You Tube videos, mfg sites, I seem to be getting more educated and more loss at the same time. Looking at pocket carry sized lights that use 1 x 18650. 1. What are the different LED or what should I be looking for, I see CREE and a few letters, but I don't...
