Figuring out next lights and batteries

Hey all, Basically need some advice on my next McGizmo purchase, thinking 1 or 2 additional lights. Fair warning, I'm both interested/open to a lot of combos which makes me bounce all over the place. I purchased my first McGizmo back in 2013 and have been super happy with it. Don helped me...

    Help choosing my first McGizmo

Yeah I definitely like the idea of the wide angle flood of the mule. I'll have to put more thought into my second one once I'm ready. On a side note, I just got my haiku last night. I love the light so far and I'm very impressed with the build quality. Throw seems to be pretty good so I...

    Full Haiku Disassembly

Cool, let us know how the bead blasting turns out. This looks like it'll be another useful thread. Is there a particular reason you want the bead blasted finish? Is it purely cosmetic? I was wondering if the shiny appearance dulls over time since I plan on carrying mine every day.

Thanks everyone! DTF, I went with the swivel and tether per your advice. :) I was strongly considering the XML for its throw but I'm really really really intrigued what the 119V look like. I wouldn't be surprised if I got an XML down the road (probably after a mule).

I ended up deciding on the 6V with the haiku 119V. I also sprung for the upgraded clip and tether. Can't wait to see the "curvaceous" 2x123 pak.

Thanks! These are really useful and I think one of the best side by side comparisons. This definitely narrows it down to the 6V 119V vs. 6V XML. It looks like the second to last picture is a comparison of the 119V and xml at 3V. Is there an even bigger difference when using 6V for both...

    Help choosing my first McGizmo

As a pure newcomer a matrix would be very helpful and common builds (and what their "common" use is) would be very helpful. Not to get greedy but I'm always interested in hearing your thoughts on the pros/cons of each combination. It's hard to learn the technical terminology in addition to how...

Thanks for the offer, Benchiew. If you could post some beamshots of the 6V 119V Haiku vs. the 6V XML Haiku that'd be excellent! I'd be interesting in seeing the differences in the beams at a longer distance. Much appreciated.

    Help choosing my first McGizmo

Hi Paloa, I didn't think this was an option but looking at this thread it looks like is. Granted I'm still in general very confused by all the different parts so I could be misinterpreting the thread. Thanks Benchiew, I wasn't aware of this combo but it sounds like it could fit the bill quite...

    Help choosing my first McGizmo

Thanks for the input everyone! Robe I'm glad you're happy with the High CRI. I'm still researching all of this, it's so much to take in! I think getting a haiku and a mule would fill most of my needs (walk the dog + photography). With the mule I feel like the High CRI would be perfect for...

    Help choosing my first McGizmo

I've been reading this thread all day trying to make the same decision you just went though, needless to say my head is spinning right now. I admit I know very little about flashlights making this decision even more difficult (and I'm usually terrible with decisions in general). I'm basically...
