When did you start carrying an LED light? Has it made a difference?

I found that the Sunwayman V10-R was a very handy light to carry in my pocket. When I would go to restaurants, it was perfect for reading the menu. I started carrying this light back about four years ago (2011). I always seem to forget my reading glasses and the light allowed to to see the...

    Klarus ST11 + CH11 charger Review

Re: Klarus ST11 + CH11 charger Review in Progress I just purchased the CH11 and I find this a great feature for charging options. I always carry extra batteries when traveling and having this simple charger is a nice option. Your suggestion of clicking the tail switch off first, before...

    Parasitic battery drain

I too would be interested in an answer to your question. I just bought the new Klarus ST11 and it has one of those side electronic switches to change modes and I am currently monitoring if it will discharge my 18650's faster or not. P.S. It is a nice bright light for an EDC

Real World Review - The PowerTac "Warrior" Rechargable Package

Nice review and very thorough Does the side "gray" switch mean that the light has that small constant parasitic amp draw, which is typical of electronic switches ? Just curious Thanks

    Flashlight review turns serious.

Great story. Glad your "real" LED light got the job done. This story is worthy of those you read on the Surefire web site, testimonials

    Electronic switch or mechanical ?

Thanks for the great explanations. All my lights, but one have tail cap switches, that operate exactly as you both describe. The Olight M30 has the soft touch side body switch that operates the strobe and output modes. I do realize that the parasitic draw is minimal for the electronic switches...

    Electronic switch or mechanical ?

Selfbuilt had a great review of LED flashlight construction and operations. However, I am confused about whether my lights have a electronic switch or a mechanical one ? The electronic switch has a small parasitic draw and the other does not Is there a definitive way of knowing ? Can some one...

What's the best EDC flashlight in 2012 and why?

I carry my Sunwayman V10R, 200 lumens and the nice smooth rotary. The cargo pants my girl friend bought me have so many pockets, I could carry my Catapult V3 with ease. Tho, I would probably walk with a limp.
