Help me pick my next EDC light.

You said your price was $60 - can you go up to $66?? If so, get the L1D CE w/ textured reflector and get a spare body + tailcap for the P2D. Then you can always have a super small light. I originally ordered the L1D CE myself, and got the L2D body - but it is too big for everyday use...so I got...

    How to open Fenix head?

Did you do some heating cycles?? I did the old head in a plastic bag in boiling water, but head on a coffee cup warmer seems to work just as well (thanks datLED).

Fenix P2D CE Problem on Low Setting (Video)

Honestly - I agree about it being a non-issue, but I also like to have things work excellent. For those who are interested in a fix in the future - they may be able to get it. :D

P2D CE Lights the Hollywood Bowl

Fenix P2D/LxD is even cooler then you realize!!! Just wait and see what happens in the next couple months. :D

Fenix LxD/P2D boost driver revealed. 7/16: more (good) pictures of inside the driver.

OK - it's been quite a while since I've updated this page - but I am preparing to move and haven't really got on CPF much to begin with. BUT, I have some more things I need to add. A friend and I sat down one night with the goal of figuring out as much about the driver as we could. Well, the...

    p1d-ce vs p2d-ce

Without going into too much about how the driver works - I can say with some assurance that this is a very minor software error in coding the microcontroller. That being said, someone is about to start reprogramming the heck out of the light with the help of a couple of friends. Hopefully, the...

Long scratch on new LOD-CE reflector... what would you do?

Re: Long scratch-this is getting insane. Court TV anyone? Katx, would you please just stop. You keep going even when everyone has said their piece. The thread has run it's course and I said as much. You know, I have looked through your posts, and I can't find much that you contribute to this...

    P2D body compatable with ???

I do not think the threads on the L2T and the L2D are the same - hence I don't think you can put your P2D head on your L2T body...you would have to get the L2D body separate. Regarding the other uses of the P2D body...the L1D, L2D, and P2D are all the same heads. Also, the threads on the P3D...

    p1d-ce vs p2d-ce

Get the P2D CE with the textured (OP) reflector. I would consider it a light orange peel, not a medium orange peel, because there is still some reminants of the donut around the hotspot (although not much at all) - and the light still throws very well. Considering that fenix-store only carries...

Long scratch on new LOD-CE reflector... what would you do?

Re: Long scratch-this is getting insane. Court TV anyone? aye! Close it - as I stated before it should have been closed once Turbo declined the offer to get the replacement.

    P2DCE Q2 TO Q5 upgrade - Caution!

That would prevent the driver from re-seating in the same placement... I have other ideas, but they will be unveiled only after I have tried them on other non-working heads. If anyone ever has a broken Fenix. Days and days have gone by with my sig the way it is and not a single person to sell...

    P2DCE Q2 TO Q5 upgrade - Caution!

15W should be fine - that's what I have been using on circuits like this for quite a while. And yeah - I think you might have to trim those leads a smidgen.

Fenix LxD/P2D boost driver revealed. 7/16: more (good) pictures of inside the driver.

I figured that the microcontroller was the one they hid under the black epoxy - guess I was wrong.

Fenix LxD/P2D boost driver revealed. 7/16: more (good) pictures of inside the driver.

So, I just to some time to try to remove the rest of the soft red gunk from the driver - and try to get better access to the microcontroller. The black goo over the microcontroller is solid - I tried picking at it a bit which you can see in the pictures, but that stuff does not seem to come off...

Fenix P2D CE Problem on Low Setting (Video)

Some of the early L1D/L2D/P1D/P2D lights did not seem to do it. Then, there must have been some type of driver revision - and then the new issue arose. I suspect unless you were one of the first people to buy the lights - yours will probably exhibit the same "problem". As RV7 indicated, this...
