darmawaa, they were max. settting, both were near 2.8A current draw.

Thanks kks.

clumma,
Here is actual measurement from the tail of body & 18650 negative terminal.
4.18V current draw 0.09A, 0.78A, 2.75A
4.08V current draw 0.08A, 0.63A, 2.3A
4.04V current draw 0.08A, 0.63A, 2.24A
SST-50 GH102 brightness is very close to MC-E M bin. But the volt-in is slighty higher than Cree.

Will ship next 24hrs.

:thanks:

Thanks download, but what current is the min flux given for (I take it not 359mA...)? Also, what about other attributes of your light -- size, weight, modes, etc... Is it all in a thread I missed somewhere? Thanks!

I think I saw somewhere that it can use unprotected 18650s. Is this true? That would be great!

Don't let these questions create doubts about my wanting in on the 5th run however!

Good question! clumma
According to the spec., GH102 is Minimum Flux 425(lm) @ 1.75A.
That was the best bin I could get at that time. ;)

PhlatLight SST-50 devices are production tested at 1.75A. The
values shown at 5.0A are for additional reference at other possible
drive conditions.

For more details:
http://www.luminus.com/stuff/conten...2_sst_50_w_product_datasheet_illumination.pdf

From the first post, you will see:

LED: SST-50 GH102
Driver: 2.8A max 3 mode with memory, 5%, 30%, 100% brightness, no Strobe or SOS
Battery: any 18650 protected or not.
Reflector: Metal Orange peel.
Lens: Sapphire crystal
Beam pattern: Perfect hotspot, no more donut or dark cross.
Change mode by switching off & on with reverse clicky.
Dimensions : HAIII= 23 x 120mm
Weight w/o battery : Body= 66g

It can accept any type of 18650 battery, protected or not.
Thanks for your support!

Thanks for reposting! Does this mean you expect about 680 lumens at the emitter @ 100%? (I realize it may not be linear, but is this ballpark?)

How long can it run @ 100% without thermal throttling or shutdown?

Switching modes... does this mean if I am on 100% that I must push the clicky... 1 off, 2 5%, 3 off, 4 times to get to the 30% mode?

Thx again,

-Carl

PS- Bravo again on designing for unprotected batteries. I sometimes feel I am in the battery dark-ages with lights, wasting so much space with redundant protection circuitry, springs and contacts, etc. Somebody should design a new form factor with a plug on one end that makes up the end of the light (built right in to an exterior-facing enclosure)!

GH102 min. 425 lm, max. 500 lm
From the LED should be close to 700 lumens @ 2.8A.

The Unscientific estimation:
Runtimes 2400mA : 5%~30hrs, 30%~3.5hrs, 100%~55mins.

If on 100% for more than 2 sec., (memory for max already)
First click still max, 2nd click is low, 3rd click is mid
I mean "click" is half press the switch only, not fully push the switch till end and lock.
Reverse clicky is easy to change mode.

Max, Low, Mid, Max, Low, Mid, Max,..................

Actually, I willl recommand "Protected" battery, much more easy to handle.
You have to take great attention to use unprotected li-ion.
4th run ciruit do have low voltage warming, when voltage drop lower than 3.0V, it will flash every second.

Thanks again, download. Sounds like an incredible light. Definitely count me in! I didn't understand "click" as half-press, that sounds just fine. Unprotected definitely requires care, but I'll go out of my way for 3000mAh.

Wow, hadn't seen that graph. Didn't realize the MC-E had such a lead. Good ol' Cree...

I took the reflector out of my M2SC4 and the output became 100% spill, absolutely even and perfect, with no dark cross at any distance. My conclusion: if you don't care about throw, don't use a reflector. Looks like McGizmo made some lights this way.

EagleTac's reflector makes a nice spot at about 4 meters and beyond, but closer than that, the dark cross is clearly visible. I'm looking forward to seeing the "computer-designed" reflector on the forthcoming 4sevens MC-E light...

I guess the testing sample was the lowest bin like GF100.
Compare the GH102, it will gain ~50%.
In my eyes, brightness of GH102 is very close to MC-E M bin.
MC-E is for big reflector or flood light. 0.02C
