What's your impressions of the build quality of this light Vinh..? The head and reflector remind me of a Sunwayman T40Cs.., from yesteryear. Wasn't a particularly deep reflector but really well polished, and could throw. 150Kcd seems "conservative" for this form factor. Power boost/driver VN4..., XHP35Hi maybe..???

How bout shaving the dome off that 50.2 as well as running it FET. How's the heat? Convoy L2 should make a good host as well with probably a little more heat-sinking.

L2 is too big compared to this host. Also most prefer 21700 over 26650.

This light just got better. Nice improvement with vn4 and xhp50.2. Great if your looking for a mix of lumens and throw. But if your looking for a mix of more even throw and still decent power,
I honestly think shave dome SST40 vn4 would make the best combo for this type/size light. I have a very similar light that vinh modded with a sd SST40 vn4, and it does 1700 lumens and 270kcd. So this tc500 should do the almost exact numbers.

Going to VN4 the other options as time permits :)

SST40 HD 6500K: 2200L, 205Kcd, 906m

Catapult V6 with XHP35 HI 6500K does 2050L and 190 Kcd

Very impressive to see SST40 HD beats the XHP35 HI with more lumen and throw. TC500vn head is a little bigger but the body is smaller with 21700 VS 26650.

Can't seem to find dimensions of this light anywhere. Size wise looks like something like Manker U21 is closest competitor?

SST40 still seems like it's meant to be dedomed.

Yeah I tried dedome with little success so SD is currently the best way for me to get the most throw from this LED. I will add some compasrison pics of TC500vn vs Delta VS Catvn V6 after I have SD numbers. I am relaly loving everything with 21700.

Funny it throws pretty good in L2, maybe this reflector-- which appears more shallow-- just isn't that good a fit for flat and/or small LEDs.

Throw is an odd animal. Different LEDs just fits better with certain reflector Geometry. I really enjoy this light is 50.2 surprisingly. Very healthy 3000L and great throw. Nothing beats this combo of lumen and throw for the size. Well M30Cvn does 2500L and 170Kcd but its too pricey. I am excoted to see what 50.2 in that light will make. Hopefully 6000L and 80Kcd? ahahha

3v 50.2 is probably much cooler running than 3 White2s. Hell, they get rather hot in the RS80 as well after a while.

The reflector was probably designed to maximize the domed SST40. The larger 50.2 when dedomed or sliced domed might prove worthwhile as well.

The 50.2 is a little bit like 4 XPG3 next to each other so when in 3V direct drive configuration its relatively under driven so heat is nice.
