Hello CPF!

I am travelling to California for vacation and I am wondering if there are any flashlight sellers that I can visit? I would like to pick up some batteries, too since they are cheaper than in Canada.

California's a BIG place.* Can you narrow that down a bit?

FWIW, retail is always more expensive than online for batteries - and everything else flashlight related, it seems. Not many deals to be had, IME...

There are many REI locations in California.

I can't necessarily recommend any places offhand, but if you are going to be driving through Washington State and Oregon, on the way to California, instead of flying, Oregon doesn't have a sales tax. The Portland metro area would hopefully have some decent retailers, but that is just speculation.

+1 on sports stores, bigger the better; Sport Chalet is a good one, their flashlight/lantern section is usually a full two-sided isle.

Hey, sorry guys - I will be in Anaheim and San Diego.
Maybe I will just buy flashlights on vacation and search for batteries when I get back to Canada.
