X10vn = 1 XML2 at 6.5A for 1800 Lumen
X3vn= 3 XML2 at 6.5A 2600 Lumen

The host is exactly the same for both. Both host look like the maelstrom X10vn AKA MMU-X

X3vn is just the 3 XML2 version of the same light (X10vn)?

Do we have a throw comparison? The X10vn will out throw it by a lot, but, what CAN the X3 do?

Kevin, apparantly there seems to be changes with the reflector. People report less throw with the 3X but wider flood, nothing verified yet but plenty of users reporting it.

Perhaps they will be two slightly different torches, I'd recommend waiting for a X3vn review or beamshots before I sold my own X10 to get something stronger.
As stated already, the X10 and X3 are the same light on the outside but with different purposes; one for throw and one for flood. The X10 Vinh modded before was modded for throw as well, but as there have been advancements in technology and Vinh continues to push what can be done, it's the internal mods, not the reflector, that is making such a difference. Also, I only like single modes with dedicated throwers usually, though opted for single mode direct drive for more lumens. So lights like this a second or third mode is really much more useful to me, and to still have direct drive on high is perfect IMO. Due to the small size of this light and being easy to carry, as well as such a useful spill, it would be great to use this light for things closer up to without blinding myself haha.

Noob question: for the MMU-X, is there a clicky tail cap that I could swap in for the
4Sevens tail? The only thing I don't love about this light is the UI--would rather click
once for on instead of twist or hold the tail switch.

I think Vinh mentioned something about clicky switches not dealing with the greater amps, while a direct "shove things together" switch like this one could.

I also really dislike this UI, but the rest of the light is the dogs bullocks!

X10vn options and details adjusted

A) Low-High with last mode memory (1620 Lumen - 1780 Lumen)
High = Direct Drive = 5.2-6.2A depending on battery (Lower than option B due to circuit internal resistance)
Low is about .35A or 150-200 Lumen
$125

B) Single Mode Direct Drive 6.5A (1800 Lumen)
$100

My DD single mode has a hidden low mode, sometimes. It's unpredictable.

I am not sure why it does that but I think i got the driver down down. Picked up a few tricks a long the way as I play with it. Did much more testings and running tests too. Would you like to send it back so I can look at?
