Yes, but companies that want to do so must now pay for the specialized capacity-sizing beyond the D specs. And I'm sure that would be passed on to you. Which may not be profitable if it didn't sell, so the project gets shelved or goes back to stuffing hundreds of cells into a pack.

At any rate, the world did an end-run around this situation with lithium instead.

Hi,

I have been looking for new D cell batteries for my Magmod for years now. The original batteries were Tenergy's and i think they were 12,000Ma niMH. They took forever to charge.

I have been looking at the Tenergy's mentioned here:

1. Centura 8,000 mAh
2. High capacity 10,0000 mAh
3. Premium high capacity 10,000 mAh

The only battery listed as being slow discharge is the Centura, my MagMod (an electrolumens special) takes 4 of these puppies and i'm concerned the 8,000 mAh's wont last as long.

I can get these batteries readily from Amazon but i'm not sure which one to buy. I'm open to other makes but dont know where to source them - for example where could i find the Tensai D TR-D10000's tested here?

Thanks

Mark
