Received the 2x18500 tube on Saturday.

Tried it with an E2E head... nothing. :candle:

Cleaned the threads, contact points, checked the battery voltages, and tried it with a KL4 head ... still nothing. :thinking:

Then I remembered..

Fivemega, my 18650 body arrived today but the threaded section is not long enough to make negative path contact on 2 of my E series heads. The anno is way better that your previous offerings, congratulations!

A black L4 head and an E2L outdoorsman head will not function.

I think I can salvage it by finding a thin shim to take up the space between the top of the tube and the negitive ring inside the heads. Finding one might take some doing.

Anyone else having an issue or is it just me?

... I didn't understand what Sgt. LED was talking about at the time, but now I do.

So, I took a paper clip, trimmed it to length, fabricated a make-shift ring, and laid it into the KL4 head to act as a make-shift shim. It worked.

Questions:

a. Would you happen to have a supply of shims (very narrow flat rings, washers, or split-washers) that can act as shims?

b. If not, may I return the tube for an exchange with one that has a slightly longer threaded section? (I think perhaps an extra 1/64" is all that is needed to make contact.)

c. Any other thoughts on solutions? I've thought of using aluminum foil to make a "donut" that, when the barrel is fully screwed in, would form-fit into a conductive collar, but I'm not sure if the resistance would be significant.

I'm otherwise very happy with the tube. It's just the right size to fit my hand. I like the way the two flat side sections feel when I'm holding the flashlight. And the additional runtime that I get with my Milky Gossamer makes the tube a great value.

While I like the feel of the 2-flats, 4-flats would be even nicer.
