With all this talk of older lights recently I bought a NOS Energizer. After seeing things, stranger things even, about a new light from Energizer that has the specialised task of being used for a form of hunting I decided I wanted one. Being not quite ready to purchase a cheap China light from QVC bearing the Energizer logo I looked around for months to find the vintage version. I think SOLman can appreciate that I found a Made in USA version.

It is a bit longer than a comparable Eveready Captain. I saved the Norelco bulb and put in a cheap Dorcy since I have a case of them. I haven't seen Stranger Things but it doesn't matter, the light was probably the star of the show anyhow.

That's a great light. The 10 years switch warranty made me happy - that light is from a time when manufacturing quality was something that companies were proud of and buyers found important. Like how Duracell used to be so sure of their batteries they used to direct replace anything damaged by a leaking cell.

Did you try it with the original bulb? How is the beam?

The UK definitely never got that model but I like it for sure!

i did not try the original bulb it went straight to my parts case. I save all the original bulbs and attempt to run something cheap and replacable. Right now I'm building a stockpile of bulbs with around 10 of any given type. They aren't making very many quality bulbs nowadays unfortunately. If I want to be an incan user into the future I will need some.

Yes you are right there. Quality bulbs are getting hard to find. I've been collecting for a while and I noticed how suddenly quality bulbs have dried up. The cheaper bulbs give a poor beam and blacken quickly.

Have you seen the flashlight they sell that is a reproduction of the light they use on stranger things? It's actually pretty good

Works well with a 3D bulb and Maglite 18650 adapter kit.

I have had one of those around here for the last 25+ years.
It has an easy life without the ever present danger of alkaleaks since it has nimh and a kpr141.
So now i can use it to detect demogorgons?
If i find an infestation what do i do?
Will a bearded dragon eat them?

I just tossed away my last piece of crap like that two days ago. Had it since like 91'. The reflector got damaged last year. A Rayovac 2D. No more...

Where are you finding quality e10 krypton bulbs?
Germany and Spain still have some stock. But now getting expensive, I do a Google search. Ebay has dried right up for E10 Krypton. Shame. Is there one you were after? May be able to help or advise.
