I have given my father's flashlights a second life. Changed to 100 lumens led bulbs and new batteries. Still crappy flashlights but good for use indoors if power failure. I like to fix old gear.

I sometimes buy lights from the 70s-early 00s and do some upgrades. It is like throwing money away but it can be fun to do. I fixed up a Varta but I would have been better off buying a Surefire when it was all said and done.

What led bulbs do you use? The one I use is only 100 lumens because no heat sink. I think they where a little bit to dim.

It wasn't the bulb, because it wasn't PR style but threaded that I upgraded. I put a battery adapter in it.

I also find me mothers Petzl Zoom headlamp in a closet. She used it in the 90s when she biked to work. I upgraded to led and it's still a quite good headlamp.
