The magnetic stands are very nice. Most anything with 1/4-20 threads will do.

For a versatile stand, I find the gorillapod to work great. Easily adjustable, gripable....
I leave my rail adaptor connected to the little slider part of the pod.

No, this item is available and will be available for years. The rail is not changing as it works very well.

The rail adaptor & a mini Gorilla pod are the bomb.
We use this configuration all the time at our cabin. I leave one of my SPYs ( the XML is great), for general lighting as we do not have electricity there. I just use one of the "slots" where the max is only 750, so we get long battery life & no chance of too much heat buildup.

How many mm wide is the adapter/picatinny rail on the 007 & Tri-V?
