Something that really burns me is on places like EBay where they sell "HID" lamps that are nothing but halogen lamps colored blue.
Is there somewhere I can (cheaply) buy REAL HID bulbs? Thanks for letting me vent.

"Real" HID lamps require ballasts also, not just the lamp. Also the retrofit kits out there for adding HID setups for the cars are basically illegal (check in your state) for on road use because they do not include new lenses and reflectors. You CAN add HID lamps and ballasts to your stock reflector, but since the reflector and lens was made for halogen and not HID, it will annoy other drivers because HID has a larger hotspot and thus the focal area is different. In short, don't buy the kit if it doesn't include new lenses and reflector assemblies for your specific car.

The sylvania xenarc is available as are the McCulloch HID lights.

McCulloch offers a much more extensive collection/applications.

we offer both, plus every just about every HID component made to date.
