I'm looking to buy a Fenix, zebralight or armytek light. I would also like to have some powerful IR illumination, not to use at the same time.

Option 1
add infrared filters to the white light. Would that reduce significantly the lumen and range of the illumination? which filter? filter sheets are good? like http://www.nhbs.com/title.php?bkfno=192512&ad_id=813 ? 3mm or 5mm?

Option 2
Combine a headlamp with the Fenix HB Flashlight headband (or is their a better way to do this?) then add 1 or 2 dedicated IR illuminators on the side mounts. Maybe one with 7-10 degrees beam and an other wider. both should work with rechargeable batteries and reach a distance similar to that of the Fenix HP30 (over 200m?).

Option 3
?

After more reading I realized that a IR filter would probably not work on a LED flashligt.

I guess I'll need to mod the lamps with IR LED and green LED. I'll read a bit more and make a new post, that will hopefully make more sense
