I just received this light a few weeks ago, and it was impressive for the first 10 minutes, but then the light started to flicker and blink. Is this because of the batteries? or could the bulb be broken?

When does it flicker & blink? If it does that during the first minute after turned on then thats normal. I heard some HID lights flicker & blink right before the battery dies. If its happening on a good recharged battery then perphaps you got a leaking or cracked bulb.

Have you recharged the battery?
Did the issue go away?
My 2000R doesn't flicker before the battery dies, the light just turns off.
I did have a lamp blow it would be more than a flicker, you would hear the pop and see that the lamp exploded
