I have been buying up a few of these before the sad day comes when you can't get them anymore 😞

I wondered if anyone ever tested or review these? it's been years and years I have had a 7.2v one and it's never blown (to be fair it's not been an edc, just sporadic use)

Am I being thick ;) , but what set up is a 14v one for?!?!? or a 12v one come to think of it! when I mean set up I don't mean what battery configuration?

What are the "KD" clones? I've bought a lot of P60 clones. But I am unfamiliar with what "KD" means.

Ahh, I see. Well, for what it is worth I bought a bunch of cheap chinese knockoff P60s about 5 years ago thinking I would stock up forever. And the thing is, I've used a Surefire 6P with one of those lamps every day for the past 5 years. Still running strong. So I think I have way more than I needed. This thing has also taken a lot of abuse. And I like the beam pattern better than the Surefire lamp.

Hi FM, yes it's printed 15w. being an electrician I should have spotted that it's not difficult to work out the watts with a volts/ammeter dmm, duh! 😉

Definitely.
Normally not a fan of clones, but if we want our older SureFires to not be nice-looking paperweights.... no choice.

I have a couple of the 7.4V Kaidomain from a very long time ago. They work fine, but I have not used them much. I suspect they will begin to darken over time as they appear to only contain xenon, and no halogen.

You see some crazy prices on ebay for p90s ect...the last one I saw was $39.99!

I accidentally fried 3.7 voltage one with... yes you guessed it, 2x rcr123! ;) not thinking again! so I took it apart and de soldered the bi pin bulb and it looks just the same as any quality bi pin I have ever had/used before! I for one will make sure I have a good few of each voltage going forward...

Two 3.7V rechargeable lithium ion batteries should work just fine with a P90. I've been using that setup for 15 years, never fried one even with 18650's! Are you sure there wasn't a short. Two RCR 3.7V and a P90 used to be the most popular combo out there.

no I mean I used a 3.7 bulb p60 and ran it off 2x rcr123... for all of 0.1 seconds!

Oh, I see. I thought you were talking about a P90 or P60 lamp assembly which are 9v (7.4) and 6V (4.8) respectively. I know some people use P60 to refer to the format. Makes sense. I always preferred the D26 nomenclature, but I use P60 generically sometimes myself.

The old Aw 17650s still work but are reaching retirement age now, they must be 10 years old???

3.7 Volt bulb designed to work with single Li-Ion cell.
Even pair of primary CR123 will be too much overdrive.
Original P60 which is designed to work with pair of primary CR123 can also work well with 4 fully charged/rested NiMH

Wasn't there a fat body available for this at one point? That would be an awesome setup with a D26 head to get a lot of free lumens out of P60 lamp assemblies. A 4AA length body would be a bit long, but could be useful as well though, just not an edc setup. Would be pretty handy though. Someday I might have to see if I have enough extensions and battery sleeves where needed to see if I can cobble one together.

Using 4 cells of 26350 in 2x26650 and 14 volt D26 could be better choice than 4x18350 or 4x16340

For 7.4 volt version possible to use pair of same cells in single 26650 body.

And for 3.7 volt version and longer run, single 26650 cell will serve better.
For extreme long run 1D M*g powered with pair of 3500mAh cells will serve best.

This body can also work as 2P/2S 18350 and 7.4 volt drop in such as P90

4AA in line will be too long for P60 but
this 4AA in series are much better choice.
