Sorry for the noob question. I was hoping someone could give me a quick rundown or lead me in the right direction to find the specs and specific strengths and weaknesses of the most popular LEDs on the market. I know about the differences in reflectors and the basics of what makes a light a thrower or flooder. And I know about tints. But with so many different LEDs out there, why should I choose one over the other?

I'm also confused about the different bins. Is the higher the bin the brighter it is?

That's some of what I was looking for but didn't have much info on new emitters. Xpl-hi, xhp 50-70, mt-g2. I'm also looking for possible lumen ratings and limitations.

LEDs are changing constantly where the newest & best can be outdated in a few months. Most people go to the manufacturers website to find out the detailed specifications, and try to figure out what is best for their application. The differences are usually the die size and voltage requirements where the smaller dies will throw farther, and larger dies will be floodier.
